A warm welcome with a cosy room and a great selection at breakfast are what you might expect at any B&B, but here you get much more. I have stayed with Jane & Paul on several occasions as a single, with my partner and with a mum in law in tow. The welcome and friendly service never fails. There are lots of little extra touches, like tea and Jane’s cakes (lemon on this visit) on arrival, served in front of wood-burner in winter and in the conservatory or even, if weather allows, in the sheltered garden in summer. There are big beds, lots of pillows, digital radio/iplayer docks, plenty of books and magazines, home-made biscuits, hot water bottles and bed socks provided in your room and the Aga cooked, breakfast choice is superb. Jane and Paul are ready with help and information on local attractions and the history of their interesting home. Friendly dogs are welcome here too and treated as members of the family adding further to the homely atmosphere. Do try it.

Room Tip: There is a cosy ensuite room or a double and single with a private shower room which can be closed o...

Jane and Paul are very welcoming hosts, who live in a beautiful thatched cottage. We were looked after from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we drove away. Very comfortable rooms, tea and cakes on arrival and the king of breakfasts to start the day with. Paul was also happy to go out of his way to help us with transport to the wedding venue. If we go to the area again we wont stay anywhere else, it made our weekend that much more enjoyable. Thanks to you both. X

We were lucky enough to get a last minute weekend break at Arden cottage with Jane and Paul.

Though the weather was a little different to our last stay in may the cottage still feels so warm and homely.

If you get chance read the guest information pack to get a bit of the 600 years of cottages history....

Just finding new things/old things this time in the cottage like the stain glass windows and the old bread ovens makes you appreciate the character of such a place.

Jane and Paul are great hosts, very relaxed and welcoming..... Great sausages!! Great brekkie....

It's nice to be able to take a trip with the pooches and always feel welcome, they are a wealth of local knowledge and there's always something to keep you active and entertained in the village and surroundings if you please.

Simon and Kerri + 2 x pooches

It's always good to see our Guests return and we enjoyed seeing you both again. Tia and Jodi instantly remembered where they were and settled back in immediately.

A 2nd lovely stay! We stayed in 2010 and had a lovely stay then as we did this time- comfy bed, gorgeous food and welcoming hosts! We would have stayed again sooner however I forgot the name and lost the details of the b&b and couldn't relocate it!

This will now be our first request on accommodations when we visit the area again in the new year!

Thanks Jane and Paul, Charlotte, Chris and Jo x

This picturesque thatched cottage in pretty gardens is a lovely place to stay. Paul and Jane allow dogs to stay and although they do not have dogs of their own are usually looking after someone else's dogs. So our greyhound was able to make friends with Elsa who was staying. Paul and Jane are very welcoming- tea and lemon drizzle cake on arrival. The breakfasts are wonderful. Porridge and full English for my husband and son, homemade granola and fresh fruit followed by a generous portion of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for me. As we had a double and single room and bathroon at the end of the landing , we were able to close the door on the landing and essentially make a suite of rooms. The super king size bed is very comfy and Jane walked the dog with me in the morning to show me the best walks. Highly recommended.

A lovely thatched cottage that has history and character as well as comfort, dog friendly, as well as people friendly. Set in a wonderful little village close to a private railway, scenic coast and hills, Our hosts were excellent, nothing too much trouble, we were welcomed into their home, and made to feel part of their family. Our bags carried to our room and we had home made cake and tea on our arrival. Breakfast was excellent setting you up for the day. We met a variety of other visitors from wedding guests to walkers to family of local residents, who did not have space to accommade them. The best place we have stayed Triple A with stars.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally execellent with their own character

Both my husband and our two dogs were made to feel as part of the family, comfortable to say the least, beds and pillows wonderful.
Breakfast choices to top standard, highly recommend the smoothies.
Both Jane and Paul have great knowledge of the surrounding area for brilliant walks.
Thankyou for the pictures which you have emailed. Penny and Mike.

Room Tip: Just choose this B&B you can't go wrong
