“Not bad at all!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

6 good real beers on the bar, all well kept and presented.
Sunday lunch tasty. Some of the guest beers are a touch expensive if they have had to travel.
Good welcome to a warm clean pub, would we go back. YES if we are in the area.

“Popular Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

This place has gone from strength to strength and is now a very popular venue.
Thyehave built up a good reputation for knowing their real ale and have a great choice.
Food is good also.

“Good food and really nice rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

Arrived last night after staying in 3 hotels the last week around Europe. What a pleasant surprise I got when entered my room. Totally modern, clean comfortable and well equipped. even though the rooms are right beside the very popular pub, I slept without any disturbances. A typical but true British experience.

“Good beer choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Chose this pub using CAMRA's Good Beer Guide as a quick detour off the M5 for dinner. Beer selection is excellent - there were 5 different ales on offer and one cider.

The menu is too large for all of the food to be freshly cooked to order so choose wisely. Four of us had food; spaghetti meatballs, fish and chips, pasta bake and ham, egg & chips. Worst dish was the spaghetti meatballs, the others were just ok but well proportioned. Chips came with two of the dishes and weren't the ordinary oven chips but couldn't quite tell if they were home made or not.

For entertainment there is a pool table (although this was covered over) and a skittle alley.

“Great atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

Clearly a pub for locals & a place to eat for everyone. Came here last year & the place seems to have organised itself better & as a result is a very pleasant experience. Good value menu with a good choice. Need to book at weekend lunchtimes. Our dogs were welcomed which is always a bonus. Will definitely come again next time we are in the area.
