“One night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Stayed one Saturday night in April. We selected a double bed lodge including breakfast, expecting this to be along the same lines as hotels and B&B's. The site itself was water-logged and access roads are ridden with potholes. However, the weather and roads external to the site are obviously outside the control of the team at Warrens Village. The lodge itself was next to the lake, it was clean, comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised by the heating in there.

Reception was closed upon arrival, and the sign clearly indicated to check-in with the staff at the bar. Check-in was quick and efficient, although having to walk through the staff areas to access reception to complete the check-in process seemed unprofessional.

On Sunday morning, we went to breakfast (that was included) to find that the breakfast voucher we had been given was limited to a value of £5.50. Looking at the menu, breakfast was greater than £5.50, but it was explained that the voucher would cover a 'standard' English breakfast (including tea or coffee). If we had wanted something such as a 'full English breakfast' there was a supplementary charge. There was also no selection of cereals, fruit or yoghurts that have become standard at most hotels and B&B's. Although this wasn't really a problem, it had not been explained anywhere beforehand or during the booking process. Despite the confusion about breakfast and the lack of choice, the quality of the food was very good.

I am rating the stay here Average, because despite very good food and acceptable accommodation, the site does look 'tired' and I believe there are some points such as those mentioned above (breakfast situation and check-in) that the Warrens Village team should address to bring it into the 21st Century.

Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Ive never visited a holiday village before but accommodation is hard to come by in Clevedon so we booked here for our 1 night visit. The lodge was £55 for the night which is a bargain now a days. It was clean & warm even though it was below freezing overnight. Nice simple decor & furnishings that were not remotely worn/used looking as with many hotel rooms. The place was lovley & quiet overnight, & only £3 in a taxi to Clevedon, a 2 minute drive. I'd recommend for the price but take yor own pillow if you can, the ones provided are a little flimsy.

Stayed for 2 nights as planned. Probably one of the coldest weekends possible, however we were lovely and warm with the well heated lodges. A lot of the site was flooded so we were glad of our wellies.

Staff were friendly and helpful, food better than expected and plenty of it.Clean lodges.

Will look forward to going back in nicer weather.

Room Tip: Take wellies if there's been a lot of rain

We chose this location as it provided ample parking for a car and large trailer.(probably less so when in season) It provided simple (no offence intended), yet clean and well presented accommodation. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar food was very good. We would stay again.

Faulty towers comes to mind when trying to find the words to describe this place. Never in my life have I ever seen a field in the middle of nowhere called a holiday village. Needless to say for the cost of our stay alone surely the owners could repair the roads leading to the place. Nowhere in the description to the park does it state that we need a 4x4, as the roads are A disgrace. Please be assured I am not one to generally complain but this is beyond the pale. The fields are flooding, and I have not found the staff helpful at all. Pity there is a limited rating table because mine would be 0

Dear Sir,
Sorry to hear that your stay a Warrens Village was not to your liking.
It's a shame that during your review you didn't mention anything about the accommodation, food or clubhouse.
There my have been some standing water around the grounds. But to be fair we have had the worst rainfall in Somerset and the whole of the UK since records began over the past 12months or so. Our location is rural but I wouldn't say the middle of nowhere. We are 2 minutes from the M5 with Bristol 20 minutes away and Weston Super Mare just under 15 minutes.
As for the potholes at the bottom of the lane. This is the responsibility of Colehouse Farm and not Warrens Village, but I will forward your complaint to them.
Once again sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Warrens Village.

On a recent fishing trip 38 of us booked into Warrens.Just outside Clevedon but near enough, what a good place to explore from..The site is clean and tidy with a launderette club room and resturant....How pleased were we... The "chalets" were more than big enough, clean and tidy.. The self catering chalets were more like bungalows, well equipped and very well laid out..TV , kettle tea coffee etc Plenty of room...The Carvery was excellent, the puds very good, and the breakfast was also excellent...We were well looked after...I would not hesitate to reccomend this place to anyone, in fact we hope to return...Complaints none... but a couple of suggestions.. there is only 1 plug socket and as 2 of our party have a breathing mask to wear at night it meant we had to move the bed around next to the fridge,,, so next time we will take an extention lead..And only 1 pillow. and they were pretty flat..And perhaps a dustpan and brush in each lodge .... Other than that the staff were polite and very helpfull.. Well done Warrens for coping with us lot and thank you...With a special mention to the Chef, head waiter and Jane

Room Tip: The rooms are plenty big enough, In my opinion for a long stay opt for the self catering its well wo...
