We were only at the B&B for one night and booked it very last minute. Because of this I think we missed out a little on some of the details that the others have mentioned. The welcome was lovely, warm Welsh cakes a real treat as the weather was awful, plenty of hot drinks available to make in the room, cookies etc. Our room (Blyton?), now I've read the other reviews and looked at the Facebook page, is the smallest and although immaculately clean is a little cramped.(interestingly there are no photos of it on the Facebook page) The biggest problem is the en-suite. The door doesn't open fully as it is stopped by the bottom of the bed and the en-suite itself is tiny. All the toiletries and towels and bathrobes were lovely as described but we had to take the bathrobes off the back of the en-suite door to give us more room!! I would say this room is definitely a one nighter.
The B&B is dog friendly, but - dogs are not allowed in the dining room for breakfast, which can be an issue if you have an anxious dog in a strange environment. We put ours in the car while having our breakfast, car park is secure and quiet so this isn't a problem in the cooler weather.
The famous brioche rolls had run out - so we didn't get to try them but breakfast was great, the granola a treat.
I don't want this review to seem entirely critical, but always feel that truthfulness is best, especially as the new owners haven't been there long. I would definitely like to stay again, and try an evening meal, but in a bigger room!
Blyton is very compact and looks out on to the road.

I can't think of anything you missed out on due to coming last minute (we get a lot of last minute bookings so we are pretty prepared for them) but if we did forget something I can only sincerely apologise.
Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about the size of Blyton. The room is next on our list for refurbishment but sadly we can't make it bigger. It's hard to know what to say really, we are honest online about it being a small room with a small en suite and we charge less for it than all the other rooms in acknowledgement of that fact but we don't want to be too negative about it because everyone who has stayed in it has said what a lovely room it is. Many of the reviews on this site are from people who stayed in Blyton. I suppose it's just personal preference. You are right about it being more suited for a short stay though, we do encourage anyone booking longer stays to upgrade to a bigger room as it would become a bit cramped after a few days.
Finally, dogs in the dining room! We are really sorry if this spoiled your experience, we didn't have a specific policy about this as no one has asked us before but personally we didn't think it was a good idea. After we read this review we asked all our Facebook followers what their thoughts were and the vast majority said they wouldn't like dogs to be allowed in the dining room, even the people who would be bringing dogs. So we have decided to make this an officially policy but as you quite rightly pointed out, if we say we are dog friendly people may assume that dogs can go anywhere so we will make our policy clear on our website and also add it to the information we send out with our booking confirmations
So, once again, thank you for your review, as you can see it's been very helpful for us and will hopefully benefit future guests.
