“Exemplary as always.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Yet another superb stay at Pen y Dyffryn.
Due to recent canine acquisition we stayed for the first time in a garden room. Ideal with the doggy and very well appointed.
The food as always exquisite and the welcome second to none. A home from home!

Just wanted to thank Emma and the staff for a fantastic night of excellent food and service! It has been a year or so since we had last visited ( 3 times now in total ) and if anything it was better than I could remember and I was already a big fan. Nothing was too much trouble and the new chef (6 months) took the time to have a chat while while we enjoyed coffee & petite fours in front a lovely open fire. The wild mushroom starter was to die for.... See you soon.

Room Tip: The coach room are fantastic and have amazing whirl pool bath c/w power shower

We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. I had my birthday here and I have never enjoyed a birthday so much! I felt totally relaxed and the food was outstanding as ever! The staff here are so lovely and make you feel so welcome. This is a very special place for my husband and I, and just the place for a romantic break away from the children and busy work lives. We always wish we could stay longer!

Well after trying in vain to book a break here we finally managed it and was it worth it? Too right !

The staff are all really friendly and courteous. The rooms are superb and the food to die for.

Dispite the vagaries of the British climate we had a really good break, forced to slow down and chill. My wife probably has the best weeks sleep in a long time. It's so quiet without being like a mausoleum.

Can't wait for the next visit back ( something we rarely do) but we enjoyed it so much this time. I would have no hesitation in recommending pen y dyffryn to anyone.

My partner and i stayed in the champagne room for our anniversary. The hotel is in a beautiful area with wonderful views and a peaceful relaxing atmosphere .The champagne room has a double spa bath that we spent a lot of time unwinding in after exploreing the countryside. The view of the gardens from our room was lovely and the room itself is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The food was brilliant with a nice varied menu and they have a good selection of wines available. All the staff were friendly and helpful and helped make the weekend relaxing and memorable and there are maps and suggestions of places to visit in reception (we borrowed the hotels instructions and visited the nearby pistyll rhaeadr waterfall) i will definitly be going back again !

We stayed for three nights to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and were very impressed with everything about the hotel and it's staff - nothing was too much trouble.
I am unable to eat garlic which usually means a severely restricted choice of dishes on the menu - not here - there was only one minor thing I couldn't eat (and the chef would have made me an alternative)
We will definitely be going back - thank you so much

Room Tip: We stayed in the Champagne room which had a lovely view over the garden an a jacuzzi bath

This was our second visit to Pen-y Dyffryn and just as before we had a wonderful time. The setting is fantastic, remote, but not too remote, Shrewsbury and Chester are both within easy reach. Superb food, fabulous room, friendly and highly efficient service. We can't wait to return.
