Went to this lovely pub, as a group of nine, for Sunday lunch after reading earlier reviews. Our ages ranged from 78 to 2 yrs old. Some of us had a traditional Sunday lunch and others ate from the normal menu but everyone agreed the food, along with the beer, atomsphere and service, was excellent. I booked in advance and I was advised that it would be very busy as two larger groups were already booked in before us but the Landlord accommodated us in the bar around a large table. Eating in the bar wasn't a problem, even with two young children, nearly everyone in the bar was eating anyway. As it was busy that day the bar was in fact more relaxing and spacious than the restaurant. Service was excellent and food came quickly despite the number of people eating that lunch time and the range of meals we ordered - with children that was an added bonus. I was impressed that there was still 3 different meats available well into the afternoon - I have visited many pubs/restaurants and been disappointed that they have run out of sunday lunches well before 2pm. It was raining heavily that day so we will certainly be going back in the spring/summer to enjoy the outdoors and another meal. Although I think the pub will become a regular venue for us when visiting family and friends in and around Oxford.
