“WOW!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2011

We have just returned from 4 nights at Bluewood Park Lodges. We stayed in Cupids Lodge which was amazing, brilliant decor and furnishings, huge bathroom with power shower and whirlpool bath but the highlights were the private 2 person sauna in the dressing room and the hot tub on the veranda. All the lodges on the park have hot tubs but only Cupids lodge has the sauna aswell. The lodges are set within beautiful woodland and are quite spaced out, our veranda and hot tub overlooked a field of horses and we were not overlooked at all.

The local area is made up of small villages, chipping norton being the nearest about 5 mins drive away where there is a sainsburys and other shops for you to buy food ect. We got the train from Kingham station into Oxford one day which was good, full day car parking at the station only £3.40 before 10am and £2.40 after. You can also get a direct train through to London Paddington from Kingham if you wanted to visit the capital.

All in all we had a lovley relaxing 4 nights and would definatley recommend for anyone wanting a quiet relaxing country retreat. We will definatley go back.

My husband and I booked Cupid's Lodge for our honeymoon and it was lovely. The lodge was exceptionally clean and well maintained and the layout was lovely. We went to the Kingham Plough for a drink on our first night. It's done out nicely and the service is friendly but we found it a bit too stuffy to totally relax. We found Chipping Norton a good place to go for a Chinese and to get supplies although it's a short drive or cab ride away rather than a walk. The hot tub was one of the best bits and we enjoyed several evenings watching the sun fade with a glass of bubbly from the hot tub. We'd definitely go again.

My fiance and i stayed at The Bluewood Lodges for a relaxing break and thats exactly what we got. The site was lovely, Staff Helpful and the lodge itself, wow!!! Very luxurious. I could live there. There is a sauna in the dressing room just off the bedroom, The jacuzzi bath was really nice and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. We went into Kingham for lunch at the Toll house.. the food there was really nice but i thought a little pricey. Stow on the wold was a nice little town too so worth a visit. Bare in mind though that restaurants and pubs only open from 12 to 2 o'clock for lunch so we found ourelves drving round for ages trying to find somewhere to eat and ended up back at he lodge having to cook!! Thats because we live in the city so we are used to pubs serving all day. Dont let that put you off though. If i could pick a few faults they would be that in the cupids lodge's there are 2 2seaters so not enough room for the two of you to snuggle up on one settee, the tv is on the wall above the fire surround so we had cricked necks and the view from our patio/hot tub was not that special but thats me just been finiky. Other than that though it was fantastic.

We booked this lodge for our honeymoon after lots of looking so were hoping for something really special - and we weren't disappointed! Fantastically appointed, beautifully furnished, quiet, lovely countryside and helpful staff. Hot tub in the snow was awesome!

Wow - We have just returned from a new years break at the Bluewood Lodges, What a fantastic place, from the moment we arrived it was total relaxation, We stayed in the Cupids Lodge which just had 1 bed room, it was a very spacious lodge with the living room and kitchen combined, it was very modern with a flat screen TV on the wall, 2 sofas, dining room table, fridge freezer dish washer, washer, dryer. The bedroom had a kingsize bed with flat screen tv the main bathroom spread the whole width ot the lodge it had a corner wirlpool bath, shower, toilet. just of the bedroom was a small dressing room with had a sauna in it, on the decking outside there was an outside hot tub and a table and chairs
There was about 20 lodges all together on the park, some of them are quite close together and dont have much privacy for the hot tub, our lodge did we couldn't see any one from our decking and had a lovely view of the fields surrounding blue wood park it was very peaceful out there with no disturbance from anyone,
The only thing that could of made our stay better was that as we were staying over the new years break the reception was closed all of new years eve and new years day and we had no pre warning of this. we wanted to hire a BBQ and wasn't able to this as the reception was closed, we phoned the duty worker phone number and was just told no that it wasn't possible, which is fair enough but they had enclosed information in the welcome letter that we could hire a bbq if we wanted but then when we wanted to hire we was just told NO, Just a miner thing but it was a slight disapointment.
The hot tub was lovely and easy to operate it made it extra special being in there on the turn of the new year with champers
The localtion is great with little villages and towns near by and alot of great walks, the local pub isn't up to much the Tollgate Inn - our visit there was spoilt by the clicky locals, and we felt a bit uncomfortable and wasn't really made welcome we got stared at alot and harrassed by a smelly dog that wouldn't leave us alone, we did visit another pub in Stow on the Wold called the Kings Head Inn which was a very friendly but had to drive there as its to far to walk
Over all an extreamly relaxing enjoyable break the log cabbins at bluewood is 5 star luxary accommodation we was very pleased witht the lodge and the sauna and hot tub made our holiday extra special
I would recomend a break here its very peaceful and relaxing
:-)

I stayed at Bluewood Lodges, in Cupid's Lodge, for four nights in late November with my girlfriend.

We had such a good time. The park is very pretty and laid out really well, maybe the lodges are slightly too close together but as it wasn't busy this wasn't a problem.

Our lodge, Cupid's Lodge number 19, was stunning. A large lounge with flat-screen TV/DVD and a fully equipped kitchen. All the appliances looked modern and all very clean. The bedroom was nice also, again with a flat-screen TV/DVD and a big picture window into the large bathroom. The bathroom was complete with separate shower and jacuzzi bath.

Through the doors of the bathroom was the sunken hot-tub which was lovely and hot, perfect for an early evening dip to relax us!

We had a couple minor issues with the sauna and bath but reported these the following day and everything was sorted out very quickly by a polite and friendly man who even insisted on removing his shoes before entering our lodge – nice touch I thought!

If I had to pick something to moan about the maybe we should have been supplied with more than one dishwasher tablet and possibly the mattress could have been thicker but these are tiny gripes for such a stunning lodge.

We will, without doubt, be returning to both Bluewood Lodges and Cupid's Lodge.

A perfect romantic get-away.

Well this is my first ever review, I ofter use others reviews to help me deciede, but never comment myself. My stay at Bluewood Park was a true pleasure. I have very high standards particually when it comes to cleanliness. The lodge we stayed in No\;22 was great, better than I could have hoped for. I guess the Hot tub on the decking made the trip extra special. My 5 and 3 year old girls loved it too.

This is also the first time in the Cotswolds, and comming all the way from Cornwall I was hoping it would be like the postcards. Was it?.. most deffinatly. The local villages of Stow on the Walk and Boughton on the Water along with the slaughters were apsolutely beautiful.

Well I guess you can tell from my comments my wife my girls and I loved it. Just to prove how much I have been back 2 days and have just booked another weekend in February.

So go book yourself a awsome weekend away.
