“Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I visited this hotel 3 times now. Lovely grounds. Rooms are good size, clean and tidy. However, avoid the rooms, which seem to be near a service entrance woken up at 5am by vans and Lorries. Spa is fantastic cannot fault it, the Jacuzzi is large as well as the hydro pool, only thing I would say about the hydro pool the water jets don’t seem to have any sequence. I once visited and they were off for over an hour.
The food in restaurant is okay, first time I visited 2 years ago I would say it was excellent but something happened not sure, if they have a new chef but the standard is not as high. I was charged for 10 steaks on my food bill young woman did not have a clue what to do, was sorted by an older member of staff.
Staff are not particular friendly, they look at you as if you are an Alien.

Also had one issue with breakfast and the staff in a nutshell tried to say was lied. I thought customer always came first. This has not put me off I would visit again purely for the Spa its value for money.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near service entrance

We had a great Sunday night deal for a group of us which included dinner, B&B with access to use the pool facilities.

After an exhausting day shopping at Bicester Village (the near location of this is a giant plus) we wanted to relax and have some tea and snacks before we swam/changed for supper, however there was nowhere for us to do this. We were directed to the bar which was full of men watching football, with nowhere for us to sit and chill. Eventually after a great deal of to'ing and fro'ing we were allowed to sit in the lobby area but we were made to feel incredibly demanding for this which just confirmed that their clientele is more usually guys/businessmen/golfers.

The pool/spa facilities were good and it was easy to book treatments for our stay on the day.

We had dinner which was a limited set menu, which we had to choose on arrival what we wanted to eat which was a little annoying, however the food itself (despite the very limited menu) was of a good quality.

The bedroom was vast with a great bathroom too, however it is quite like a rabbit warren so we got lost a few times!

Our breakfast was the most disappointing thing as we arrived at 8.45am and there was no bacon or sausages available. Crazy, they know how many guests they have staying how can they run out of these key ingredients.

The last spoiler was when checking out the receptionist wouldn't believe us that a few of our diners had not stayed and had paid their share of the bill. We were made to feel like we were trying to cheat them out of money which was not the case and spoken to quite rudely. Eventually the really helpful waiter that served us dinner/drinks came to reception and he confirmed that what we said was true. There was no apology from the receptionist at all.

All said and done, for the price we paid we had a great time. A very clean and tidy hotel, with good facilities but the attitude of some of the staff and their attitude at non-golfers/businessmen guests perhaps needs to change.

Lovel Hotel in nice surrounds with a golf course. We attended a wedding here and was very surprised to find a hidden gem of a place. Very nice rooms with all that you could ask for, excellent breakfast with very good service at all times. The Golf Course was shorter than we imagined however very well presented - worth a trip

We stayed at the hotel when we visited the area for a family wedding. It was much as you would expect for a large hotel attached to a golf course, spacious, but basic with little character. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, although the service was a little haphazard. As a group of four all four breakfasts were delivered with incorrect selections! They were quickly corrected with a smile. The rooms were spacious and well fitted. However there were only four coat hagers for two people. The bathroom was O.K. but did not have any heating. Am I the only person who takes there clothes off to go in the bath?
I would say that this is a hotel suited to individual business travellers( golf players obviously). They need to add more luxuries ( and coat hangers) for leisure travellers.
P.S. Don't follow the directions on the web-site. A new road has been built and the directions do not work.

This hotel is fantastic for a short break, with excellent spa facilities and relaxing atmosphere.
It is a 5 -7 minute drive from the Bicester shopping village so you can combine shopping and pampering, and golf, all round package for everyone. The food here was superb, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would definately go back.
If I had to put a negative comment, going outside to get to your room is not idea especially when it's cold & raining but it is only a short walk.

Spa and golf club very nice spa but the rooms and service had a lot to be desired Apart from the reception staff the other staff especially in restaurant very slow and disorganised , and seem to stand at the bar chatting a lot of the time . As for the sports bar 3 very fuzzy tvs always seemed short staff . Breakfast seemed to be the same shirt staff and not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel. No mini bar in room , no water supplied in all pretty poor and would not recommend it for its price nor would I stay again .

Yet again we had a lovely weekend at the Bicester hotel. Its in a great location for the Bicester outlet shops. Our Rooms were perfect, so clean, tidy and smelt so fresh with lovely views of the golf course, Spa wonderful, Hot Tub just amazing.... What a fab time we had. Food lovely and the staff really helpful and polite so have rebooked again for next Spring. Keep up the good work everyone.
