Owner description: Clumber is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres.Clumber Park was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are glimpses of its grand past to explore - from the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a 'cathedral in miniature', you can follow in the footsteps of dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden, where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.Today Clumber offers freedom to discover a ducal park and provides a haven for wildlife within an idyllic setting. With 3,800 acres of picturesque parkland and gardens, peaceful woodlands and a magnificent lake to enjoy there is plenty of space to explore and relax with your family and friends. Not only is Clumber's mosaic of habitats home to an amazing array of wildlife, it is also a great place to spot it.And there's much more to explore.

“A National Trust gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Wonderful walks as long or short as you choose. More than enough space for everyone. Excellent for children. Lovely cafe. National Trust centre for children and a shop. Bicycle hire is available too. Plenty to do for the whole family. Charge for a car but free to National Trust members.

“A great place for a walk !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Heard alot about it, its a National Trust Venue. A brilliant childrens ineractive visitor centre (free), spen at least an hour, very interactive displays, run by very enthusiastc Volunteers (Thanks for all you help, our kids valued it ). Beautiful, flat woodland walks (lots of bike routes too). took three hours with a five year old to walk around lake , you dont need to do all this ! quite pushchair friendlyb (we had a multi-terrain type) amazing colours for autumn and lots a varieties of trees to enjoy. A good day out, parking payable but worth it ! Cafe looked good, modern, also do take out teas etc.. a definate venue if you live within an hours drive, safe too.

“Years of Enjoyment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Since I was child we've been coming here and still do. That was before the days of cycle hire. However our favourite thing to do now is to hire bikes and set off on a long ride around the lanes of Clumber, some short routes, some longer and quieter.

Lovely.

National Trust.
