“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We stumbled across this gem whilst looking for Creswell Crags. Read Roamer69's review for lots of information (saves me repeating it!) Free admission and parking. My husband is very interested in racing and there is a strong connection with Welbeck Abbey and the Dukes of Portland, so he loved the Runners and Riders exhibition which is on at the moment, whist I had fun with the more arty exhibits!
The cafe and shop are great (do try some of the very original flavourings used in the chocolate in Boutique Aromatique, the artisan chocolatiers at the entrance of the farm shop, before buying some of the great (and often more unusual) food for your picnic!
There is also a very pleasant walk to Creswell Crags from the carpark - left out of the carpark, right at the road and then left again at the lodge just up the road.
Will be back next time we're in the area, to see what's new!

“Interesting gallery with foodie attractions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

My wife and I have been visiting this attractive arts and crafts gallery occasionally for a few years, and several friends have enjoyed it too following our recommendation. The building was converted from the Welbeck Abbey estate’s gas works and is well worth seeing in its own right. The changing exhibitions are nearly always interesting – at a recent visit, one was of attractive baskets woven from all sorts of recycled materials, and another of birds and animals made from porcelain paper clay over wired frames. The stylish Lime House Cafe in the courtyard is a big plus, but has relatively few tables inside. The Welbeck Farm Shop is in the same courtyard and the Welbeck Garden Centre next door. Unfortunately Welbeck Abbey itself is not open to the public.

“Fab little gallery, great cafe, lovely farm shop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012 via mobile

Lovley gallery, free admission and parking. Excellent children's activities. Lovely posh coffee shop (cheaper cafe inside the garden centre). We love it here. Go to the nearby Creswell Crags (free to look round) and you have a great day out.

“Interesting and different.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2011

The Gallery was a fantastic space, really interesting building to look at and explore. An unusual show was up when I visited of work from and inspired by India. A really good mix of things from objects (there where two rickshaws) to paintings. The shop was full of beautiful gifts which I thought would be ideal if people are shopping for unique objects and gifts that you wouldn't find elsewhere.

A good place to visit on a day out to see a bit of culture.

A lovely place.
