Went here last night as part of an organised set meal, three courses for £18.50. We arrived a little early so sat & had a drink, looks like a good selection but we stuck with a soft drink due to driving/early start.
Once at the table the starters arrived, we both had Stilton mushrooms on toasted artisan bread, it was delicious. Others at the table had soup which was clear homemade, prawns which looked lovely (but be warned they come with heads etc) all starters were very well presented, clean plates all round.
We had a carvery, but with there being limited numbers of us there was just a choice of beef or pork. Being a meat fan I had some of both and some crackling. The portions of meat were great, of all of the carveries I've been to I have never had a portion of meat as big as that. The beef was nicely pink but not blood red. The slices were big & thick. There was a good selection of veg: roast & boiled pots, carrots, peas, cabbage & leeks, Yorkshire puddings & lovely meat gravy.
For pud I had the crumble with ice-cream, others had cheese & biscuits which was a meal in its own right.
Service was good too despite the electricity going off (not their fault as it was also off in the village).
The best meal we've had out in a long time (usually eat out twice a week).
