I checked in on 1/7/14. It happened to be 5 degrees in Columbus, Ohio that day. The lady who checked me in was pleasant and nice. I walked into my room and immediately could feel how cold it was. THE HEAT WAS NOT ON AT ALL!!!!!! It's 5 degrees outside! I had even requested on the comment form when I made my online reservation to please have the heat turned up. So I turned the heat on high and sat on the bed. It literally felt like I was sitting on an ice cube. I could see the outdoor's light coming in from the gap under the door. I put a bath towel against the bottom of the door. I called the front desk to ask why the heat was not turned on in this room prior to my arrival. The same lady who checked me in started telling someone in the office what was going on. I could hear this other lady, who had a strong accent, saying tell him the room will warm up, its not a problem... WHAT? I paid for a warm and comfortable room, not one that I need to wait for it to get warm! The lady on the phone said she would call me right back. Within a few minutes, the female with the strong accent called me in my room and asked if I have the heater on "high or low." I said high! Its freezing in here! She told me that was the problem. I have to turn the heat on low so the coils can heat up. I asked why the heat was not on prior to my arrival. She told me they don't leave the heat on all the time. I told her I was not happy and wanted another room. So I went down to the front desk and the lady that checked me in gave me a key to another room. There was another lady standing there and I asked if she was the one I spoke to one the phone. She said yes. I asked again why I would be expected to check into a freezing cold room. Her response was they had all the heaters on last night, then shut them off. She doesn't get it! I then told her I felt she has been very rude and she said to me, "You have been rude, ask my employee how my tone was with you." REALLY???? I then told her I was the guest who was not happy with a freezing room and I needed something done. I went to my new room that was warmer, but dirty! This room had 2 beds, both had brown comforters on them that were stained. I pulled back the comforter to find the top white sheets on both beds had stains on them...... I decided I was not going to try and explain how wrong this was to the lady in the office. She clearly doesn't care. I decided to sleep in my clothes and piece meal blankets together from both beds. NEVER, EVER would I stay in this place again!
Ask to inspect the room first, if you choose to stay here!
