“It ain't morpeth and it ain't no. 1”
After reading rave reviews, we gave this place a try. Widdrington is a good 20 minute drive out of Morpeth. Would we make the effort again? I don't think so! The menu is broad, the proces for mains are fair but not for the desserts. The burger was good, I was told the sirloin steak was good. The drinks prices are fair - but £4.95 for a tinned sticky toffee pudding - no way! bad value.
There is parking to the rear of the restaurant which is good. We asked for a 7.30pm reservation and were told - only 7pm. We got there and the place was less than half full! Service was friendly but inattentive and a little slow. the credit card machine refused to work so it was very lucky I had enough cash to cover the bill and the staff did not apologise for this but said my 2 cards were declined - when i read the machine it said bluetooth connection lost - cheeky!
Junction - you need to up your game or the praise will wane!
