Firstly the negatives. We had to wait for our reserved table and because it is a small restaurant the waiting area is the area that the waiting staff have to move through to reach the tables. The service was a bit slow, but the 2 waitresses were working hard on a busy Saturday night and they were very pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu..
Everything else about our visit was terrific. The steaks are sourced from a local butcher known for the quality of their high-welfare, locally reared and on the plate they were perfectly cooked according to what we asked for and as good as any I've ever had. Starters and puds also to a high standard.
This is a simple and does nice food. Prices are reasonable and drink is BYO, although they are acquiring a licence next month they a still allowing BYO up to half a bottle per person, After that you could buy their wine, or maybe pay a corkage.
