“Very interesting house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Well worth a look. It was I think it was the first house given to the National Trust as the owner thought everyone should have access.

“Lots of fresh air!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Had a lovely day exploring the woodlands and all the different activities for the children. Started in the cafe which was the worst bit of our day as the queue was long, the service slow and the food not all that great when it finally came. Next time will be taking a picnic to have in the woods! Children loved the railway station play area and would have spent all day just on that.

“Dolls House Fetish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Lovely day day out for couples and families. Adventure playground for the kids too.

Inside the hall is a step back in time. There is an unusual number of Dolls Houses displayed inside which reminds me of horror movies and giggling children in the dead of night.

Toilets, parking and food it's all here!

“Limited Opening Times”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Link many Trust properties, the opening times for the house are limited. The grounds are fine for a walk but overpriced if you are not a member. There is too much emphasis on longer opening times for the gift shop and cafe. Why not use these staff for the house and extend the opening times there?
