Can't comment on the rooms ( as we weren't staying there) nor the food (because we didn't eat there) but found this one of the friendliest and most comfortable places to go for a drink that we had been to in a long while. Although the wooded seats (they looked like old church pews but I'm not certain) didn't look like they would be particularly comfortable, they proved to be. A good welcome, a fabulous beer called Tyneside Blonde (courtesy of Hadrian and Border Brewery) and the world seemed very cosy. To top it all, the music (audible, but never remotely intrusive) was a selection of tracks by old north eastern musical stalwarts Lindisfarne (the band) which please this old hippie roccker and fitted the evening to a t. Great place for a drink and a melloing out.
