We didn't stay here but we did have a lovely meal. My partner said the fish was beautiful and I had a lovely vegetarian chilli. My one complaint is that the bill wasn't itemised - just a total - and I really would prefer to know what I'm paying for

We had been told that Holy Island people may not be the friendliest, but how wrong they were!! Kyle and Zuzana only took over this pub three weeks ago but Kyle is originally a local boy!! We popped in for half an hour for a drink and stayed over three hours, in front of a roaring fire and a very decent local brew called Secret Kingdom! We were made so welcome by them and other locals and felt as if we had always known them! We went back the next evening and we were welcomed and waved at across the bar by people we had met the previous evening, and had dinner, I had mussels and my husband had fish and chips, not home made chips, but very good food none the less! Their are plans to refurbish the pub in the near future, and we will definitely consider staying there on our next visit!!

Stayed a night at the crown and anchor inn on a very cold night this week in march, Had a lovely supper with great beer or two in front of an amazing coal fire that you could have made horse shoes in, And a lovely room overlooking the old abbey with views over the bay to Bamburgh castle. A very friendly place to stay.

Room Tip: go for room 3

We called in for lunch today with our Labrador and 9month old baby. Staff were very welcoming, heated baby food, provided a highchair (and even gave the dog a little treat).
The pub has a relaxed atmosphere and the food was good and not overly expensive (we had main courses and desserts).
Toilets were clean with good baby changing facilities.
There are not many places that accommodate (and make welcome) both dogs and very young children so well.
We really enjoyed our visit.

My boyfriend and I spent one night on Holy Island and stayed here. It was a great place to chill out and just get away from the hussle and bussle of life.

Room 1 was lovely and clean and had great views.

We can highly recommend the fish and chips !!

Stayed at The Crown & Anchor for an overnight , found it to be a lovely small hotel , bedrooms , linen, bathroom all spotless , dined there too and was catered for normal and gluten free diets . Meal was brilliant , breakfast was just as good lots to choose from . Hotel has just been taken over and is going through some changes but service was 100%
Well done to the young couple who are the new owners and thanks to Keith for breakfast

Room Tip: little bit of a squeeze getting in and out of shower in room 4
