“Fantastic place”

This was our second trip to this lovely guest house. First from the St Cuthberts Way and now St Oswalds Way. The welcome couldn't have been nicer, Lynn is really nice and really takes care of you. The rooms are spotless and contain everything you could possibly need for your stay. Breakfast is wholesome and hearty and certainly leaves you full. I would highly recommend.

We were wet and muddy when we wheeled our bikes up to the entrance of Allanah House, but Lynn's welcome could not have been warmer. The room she showed us up to was a good-size - plenty of room for luggage and a couple of comfy chairs - and nice and light thanks to large windows. And there were some nice touches that made the stay all the more enjoyable: a small fridge, a jug of fresh milk, chocolates, games, an umbrella etc. Formerly used as quarters for married officers, the B&B is in a great position, just a short walk up the road to the historic ramparts (which surround the old town and offer a very interesting walk) and down to the main part of town with its shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good too. Just wished we could have stayed more than one night.

Room Tip: We were very happy with Room 1.

I was stranded in Berwick when the East Coast trains could go no further south due to a landslide. There was hundreds of people looking for accomodation that day so I walked until I found one with a vacancy so it was quite by chance that I stumbled upon Alannah House and am I glad I did. The welcome was one of the best I've ever had at a guest house, the room was cosy and comfortable and the breakfast was superb. If I ever have to stay in Berwick again I know where I will be heading.

Thanks for the good comments. It certainly was an exceptional afternoon, firstly the torrential rain then the chaos with the trains and stranded passengers, we're pleased we were able to accommodate you and genuinely hope you do get the chance to re visit Berwick and fully enjoy the town and countryside in the future and of course there'll always be a welcome at Alannah House.

Stayed at the Alannah House B and B 25th June 2012 at late notice after the hotel we booked closed for renovation without notifying us.
Had a warm welcome from the landlady who was extremely accommodating.
Room was very well appointed, clean and modern, some delightful touches I had previously only associated with 4 star hotels, breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the owners had provided ample details of local attractions and could not have been more helpful.
I would strongly recommend this B and B for reasonably priced, well appointed and conveniently located accommodation.

I have stayed here several times but been too lazy to post a comment. This time making the effort. It ticks all the boxes being friendly, located close to center of town but a quiet peaceful place to return to after a days sight seeing or after being dragged round the shops by the wife. I cannot find fault and will be back again in August.

May 13 was a chilly and very blowy night but we had a warm welcome. House is very conveniently located near the town center, ocean shore. Room was very clean with absolutely everything you could want, in toiletries, guide books etcs. Lynne was a wonderful hostess and made us feel wonderful. Great breakfast and then a walk in her garden. A wonderful way to start our holiday.

Have tried several B&Bs on Church St when visiting for business and this is by far the best.

Lovely host and cracing breakfast. Clean comfortable rooms at a good price. There are probably better hotels location wise but you will probably have to pay more and Berwick is pretty small anyway so your no more than a ten minute walk from most areas

Can definitely recommend this establishment

Room Tip: Quite a small place, we had most rooms booked to ourselves and they all looked good
