My wife was attending a Christmas night out in Berwick and rather than driving home to Edinburgh afterwards we decided to find somewhere to stay. The Queenshead hotel is central and well priced location and easily suited our needs. I spent an evening in at the hotel and they have a flatscreen TV with a DVD which was ideal for me. The hotel is small and they have a restaurant area which takes up the ground floor area, the restaurant looks nice and if we had stayed longer or certainly for a future trip I'd look at going there to eat. The rooms are of a good size and were clean, the bed was also comfortable.
The only downside I would say is that there was quite a lot of noise from the restaurant what with it being directly downstairs. The toilets for the restaurant are also just along the corridor from the room. It probably effected me more because I was staying in whilst most guests would be out at this time so it wouldn't really be an issue and it is also peak christmas party season so was probably more lively than a usual Friday night. I would however consider this if you were stopping over and planned to have an early night (after 11pm it was quiet).
It was a nice small hotel though and a nice place to stay in Berwick given it's old town charm.More
