“Fine Dining in a unique location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This excellent restaurant was very close to the hotel we were staying on and where we were rather disappointed with the food, so it was a wonderful "find". It is housed in a beautiful purpose-built barn on a working farm which has other holiday attractions too. When we visited it was only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings but for lunch every day. The setting was stunning looking towards the Holy Island. The variety and quality of the food on offer was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly and there was a good wine list. We are looking forward to a return visit this year and just wish they did B&B as well!

“Staff need to smile a little!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Called in with our children for coffee and cakes after visiting the holy island. The blonde woman organising the craft gifts never cracked a smile once. The coffees were excellent, the flapjack was average and very over priced. The young waitress was nice, polite and friendly but if the blonde woman was the owner she needs to go on a customer care course!

“Great views to Holy Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Stopped here on way back from Holy Island. Had tea and coffee whilst watching the view. First time we have been to the barn and we are glad we stopped. Staff welcoming and proud to work here, explaining how you can sit outside in the summer and those with dogs can sit in the shade under cover.

“Shelter and Scones in a Winter Wonderland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

What a fantastic addition to the choice of where to eat and drink on the Northumberland coast. This facility has been really well thought out and provides fantastic quality food and drink as well as an interesting exhibition about farming and nature and a bird of prey centre. We dropped in for coffee and cake after a bracing walk on Holy Island and were not disappointed. A roaring wood fire greeted us to warm us up, we had a table overlooking the island in the distance and drank superb quality coffee and ate the most fantastic scones. There was a lovely little section selling artwork and giftware and the lunch menu choices looked superb. We will defintely book in for a meal on our next trip to this area.

“Excellent place for a meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We went here to get some lunch. The place was packed - there was a wedding and a party of Dutch folk doing some kind of rally. Despite this we were found a table - very accommodating. All the adults went for the burger which proved to be one of the largest I've ever encountered. It was very tasty. The children had sandwiches with really nice ham. The view, ambience and service were excellent.
