“Another great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

We used this B&B as our stop over doing the Coast and Castles ride. It was virtually right on the route. Set up on the hill above the A1, it was quiet and comfortable. Room was very good with a view over the Tweed valley. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, served by freindly and helpful owner Christine. We used the Meadow House pub that was just round the corner on the A1, however it is not very safe to walk to so we had a taxi there and back.(cost £8 between four of us)

Meadow Hill B&B not to be confused with The Meadow House Pub/Restaurant a little further along the A1 like the writer of “Music Lovers Venue 09/03/2010.
Meadow Hill commands a magnificent view over the mouth of the river Tweed, and Spittal beach beyond, as well as views inland up the Tweed Valley. Christine and Tony made us most welcome, the room we had was everything other reviews have stated. We would say Meadow Hill is probably the best B&B we have stayed in, in Berwick. Breakfast was always freshly cooked with quality ingredients and plentiful.
The location being just a few metres off the A1 on the A6105 made it easy to go exploring the area, not to forget the Meadow House if you want a nice meal. Just turn left at the A1 as you come out of the B&B a short distance down the hill (North) to the round-a-bout make a sharp left at the r-a-b into the drive of the pub.

This is a nice little B&B on the outskirts of Berwick upon Tweed. Stayed here a few years ago because my sister is disabled and they have good disabled facilities. Returned for one night in area and found the place to be as we remembered it.
Trouble with the electricity going off in the morning but not long to wait for it to return where upon we could have any cooked breakfast we wished. Owners, really friendly and helpful and especially good for disabled. I have no problem recommending this B&B.

Excellent clean and comfortable accommodation. Very friendly host and hostess, Christine and Tony are most genial and welcoming. Food is excellent and a varied breakfast menu is available to suit your requirements. It has wonderful views of the Tweed valley and the ocean and is a very good place to stay close to the A! but not noisy! It is a good location if you want to travel as we did up to Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, but also close to Newcastle in the South.

Room Tip: Advise Christine and Tony if you have specific requirements, they will do their best to accommodate...

Oh my God. Where to start? The house itself is charming. The room we got was like my mom's house. Everything clean, organized and very, very, very comfortable. The owners were more then friendly, they treated us like king and queen, with respect. The embroidered towels, sheets and pillows were smelling lavander fields. Everything was perfect for a great night sleep. We like simple breakfast with toasts and jams (we choose what to eat), fresh milk, juice, tea and coffee. All this with a pleasant overview garden. I just loved Meadow Hill Guest House.

My husband and I are Brazilians, we live in US and for vacation we were on a road trip, driving through UK. It was late and we were looking for place to spend the night at Berwick-Upon-Tweed and leave the town in the morning to continue our journey. We first stopped by Caroline B&B, but the owner didnt' want to give us a room. At the door was a green light sign written "Vacancy", he didn't want to host us. Very sad people, I imagined. Actually, I met the impossible: an impolite Englishman. Well, we called hotels.com and we booked at Meadow Hill Guest House. And guess what? They didn't receive the booking confirmation at the time we stopped by, but even then they gave us a room with smiles and friendliness. Different from the gentleman of Caroline, right? In life, we find good and bad people all the time, but I'm sure that if they want to be bad their whole life, like the gentleman of Caroline B&B, they must NOT provide any service at all!!!! And we must to review and share good impressions and alert for the bad.

I repeat and recommend: Meadow Hill Guest House is the best place we've been so far in UK.

After our first experience of a fairly ordinary B&B, we weren't sure what to expect here. Well, we needn't have worried! To begin with, the hosts were charming and so friendly and helpful with our questions. The double room on the first floor, had wonderful views over the town of Berwick, and on down the coast to the south. We had plenty of room, and a hearty hospitality tray. Presentation of the whole house was a high standard. It was also pleasant to be out of the town itself, though it was a only short drive into the centre of things. Berwick is a great place for history fans, and there is a great '1 mile and a bit' walk around the ramparts. Our breakfasts were tasty and plentiful, with ingredients locally sourced. There is also a nearby pub which serves fantastic tasty food - I don't think I've ever tasted such nice haddock! Thanks to Christine and Tony for a very pleasant stay.

My husband and I are professional international touring musicians, and have performed at the lovely Meadow House in Berwick On Tweed, for the past 3 years!
The first time we arrived at the door of the Meadow House, we were so warmly and enthusiastically greeted by David (the owner), that we felt we were "home".
Before we even set up our sound system, he invited us to sit down and enjoy dinner from the restaurant menu. It was awesome!!!!! The aromas, and tastes just filled the whole dining area, and the wonderful waiting staff made our whole dining experience so warm and enjoyable.
Then we entered the music venue and were greeted by The Meadow House music clientele........families, couples, single people.....all a part of the venue's family like atmosphere......Standing in front of the banner that reads, The First and Last Music Venue......we know why! The Meadow House is definitely a place to "come home to" while you are on your travels.
