“Wow! Do not miss staying at this exceptional Guest House if you are around the Berwick area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2009

Both my wife and myself used this Guest House as a base to explore the Northumberland coast and attractions and we couldn't wait to get back from our daily jaunts to be pampered and looked after in the most exceptional way by David and Pam. They are the most lovely people you could wish to meet and Pams home made cooking was the best we had ever experienced not forgetting Davids exquisite table charms, knowlegable conversation and dry sense of humour. Do NOT miss the opportunity to stay here if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to David and Pam for making this an unforgettable stay.

I hadn't read the other reviews before i'd booked this B&B but i can't agree more with what the others have said. Pam & David are wonderful attentive hosts. I booked my husband & i into the Dream Suite ( a treat ) and was it ! I didnt want to leave the room it was sooooo lovely and the toiletries are wonderful & organic and smell so luxurious too. The house has been beautifully decorated, Pam has a great eye, there is information for guests at hand and what can i say about the breakfasts - just go & try them ! I will hopefully return for another break in the near future.

We stayed in the red room for two nights in May, & would happily recommend the Granary to anyone wanting to be pampered. The bed must be the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The shower & washbasin were stocked with organic products which smelled georgous. Pam & David can not do enough for their guests, when we commented about seagulls nesting on the roofs opposite, earplugs were left in our room the next day. The breakfasts are fabulous, a delicious fruit platter followed by georgous local & home made goodies. (Try the Eggs Benedict, its fab) Everything here is of the highest quality & beautifully presented. All this & one of the most glorious areas of Britain to explore. What more can you ask for?

We stayed here for 3 nights for our 1st wedding anniversary; Pamela & David Waddell who run the place couldn't have done more for us, and were a great help when trying to find good places to eat! The breakfasts are excellent, and the massage service offered by David & Dawn is also to be recommended.

The room was lovely; the only possible improvement would be better soundproofing from the street below - this is a very small issue of course, because Berwick-upon-Tweed isn't a very 'loud' town!

We stayed for one night at the Granary and could not believe our eyes when were shown our room. Plush and modern, it had everything you could need. We stayed in the Red room and there was a mini fridge with freebies, a fantastic shower with mulitple jets and sky tv. Dave and Pam were so welcoming, and it was obvious they'd put alot of thought into the guest house, from room decoration to the area guide provided with lists of things to do and restaurants nearby etc.
To top it all off the breakfast the next day was huge and we left very full. We suggest you try the caramelised banana porridge which Pam made, it was to die for!
Massages were offered with an additional cost but we decided not to do this, however, it was quite cheap and the massage room was clean and calming.
We would definately stay here again, it was in the middle of town and right by the river and had it been warmer we would have ventured around the area a little more than we did.

We booked all 3 rooms whilst we were attending a wedding in Berwick. We usually opt for 4 star hotel accommodation & were not sure what we would receive by way of breakfasts or standard of the rooms.
All I can say is were were absolutely delighted with the luxury & comfort of all of the rooms & the breakfasts were divine .
The couple picked us up at the station & were great hosts & very friendly.
I would recommend them to anyone wishing for a super break.I would certainly like to pay a return visit!1
