“Enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We paid the £2 to park our car in the castle car park and were greeted by a very friendly attendant. As the state rooms weren't open until 11am we walked around the grounds and visited the excellent aviation museum.

When we were able to look around the state rooms, we found them to be truly fascinating. Staff were on hand to ask questions to. There are great views from the castle and the grounds are impeccibly maintained. The home made scones at the castle cafe were delicious.

Thank you for reviewing us so promptly after your visit, glad you enjoyed the castle and the scones. I will pass on your feedback to the car park supervisor and the groundsmen who look after the grounds.

Cheers

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

A stunning castle in a lovely village. You must visit the Grace Darling museum whilst here! If you want good photos of the castle, drive down the Wyndings, to the car park in the dunes for the best views and access to the beach.

“Impressive castle in a great setting...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Bamburgh was our favourite castle in the area (we also visited Alnwick and Lindisfarne). It is impressive in and out and set in a great location. The state rooms are very impressive and my son enjoyed the Easter egg hunt. The cafe had some good food options and fantastic desserts. The shop had a good variety of souvenirs. Would visit again as imagine would find more to see.
It's worth a wander into Bamburgh while you're there, several pubs/restaurants, tea room, deli shop and a butchers with fantastic sausage rolls.

“Enormous and picturesque”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

Bamburgh castle overlooks the North Sea with a sweeping view of the sandy beach. In the distance is Holy island. The castle is wonderful. It sits above the town and protects the town from the cold and stiff North Sea wind. The state rooms are gorgeous. The rooms are well kept and grounds have so much to do. The museum is a great place to visit when in the castle grounds.
