“Nice pub,staff and lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Went for Sunday lunch.the staff were welcoming and friendly .the pub is essentially a locals pub with a few visitors thrown in (like us).The starters and main courses (which were roasts) were very good. There is a selection of real ales which apparently change fairly frequently.

This is a decent pub which produced a nice lunch on the day we went.i would be happy to give it another go.

“Excellent all round.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014 via mobile

Very welcoming & friendly with lovely food. Recommend a visit. Even though very busy we were not kept waiting. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit.

“Friendly Pub.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

We stayed here for two nights in May.We used the flat above the pub which was an excellent base for our trip.Although fairly basic it provided two very comfortable nights sleep...nothing to do with quite a few Percy Warmers served in the bar! We had super fish and chips in the pub one night and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The weather for our stay was amazing and we made use of the lovely garden at the back.Beautiful setting in a lovely little village.

Staying at Embleton for one week in March with iffy weather got much better after discovering this welcoming /dog freindly/fab food inn.
husband enjoyed the selection of ales not to mention both of us devouring the wonderful food on offer.(either in the bar with your dog and open fires) or in restraunt......Another hidden gem of Northumberland

“A very dog friendly pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

While driving on the Northumberland costal route we popped into the greys in Embleton for a beer and a bar meal after having a great walk on Alnmouth beach and driving to Craster to buy some kippers. There were two couples and three dogs.
The. Pub was fairly busy; but they could not have made us or the dogs more welcome, water and dog biscuits available for the dogs and an open fire for them to dry off in front of . For us a good selection of cask beers I opted for Alnwick IPA a great choice. A large selection of food from mains to sarnies. I opted for a meat baguette the others opted for various Panninies and bowls of chips the chips were really good as we're the Panninies but the star of the show was my meat baguette stuffed with roast lamb, blinding!
The pub has a full blown evening menus and dining room as well as a vast beer garden although it being March and very windy we stayed inside by the fire.
I would recommend the pub to anyone, but especially to dog owners.
