5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2009

Stopped 2 nights, 18th and 19th September in room number 1, wonderfull, room was huge with 2 cosy double beds and huge shower, loads of storage space even an ironing board and iron!!!!!.
Really close to the centre of Alnwick and the castle.
Staff and service brill, and so pleased we chose the half board option, the evening meals were fantasic, can especially recommend the scallops and the steak and the halibut etc Wonderfull
P.S. breakfasts were yummy too!

We stayed for 2 nights during a visit to the area. On arrival I struggled up the stairs (with my husband and I carrying the bags), while the young man showing us to our room leaped ahead without any offer of help! The room was very small (not even a proper wardrobe) and equipped quite cheaply. The bathroom was extremely small and the shower was in a poor state with mould. It was difficult to even turn around in the bathroom and the loo was squashed next to the wall. We had a double room at the back, with a small window. The room was stuffy, but on opening the window the smell of the kitchens/cooking fat came straight in. The bed was small and the pillowcase had holes in it - no one remade the bed when we went out for the day. Very expensive for what it was at £95 per night B & B, but in a good location. Food was alright.

Just returned from two night at The Tower with my husband and another couple.
We had been to The Tatoo in Edinburgh which was hectic so Northumberland was peaceful and picturesque in comparison.
The Tower is ideally situated for The castle and gardens...two minutes walk,
The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the food outstanding ( we eat out VERY regularly so can say that with some authority!!)
We ate at The Tower both nights...having established from several locals that it was the best place in town to eat and there are a LOT of alternatives. All 4 of us really enjoyed our choice of food...none of us managed to eat all 3 courses as the portions were so generous. We will definately return.

Stayed one night while visiting the Music festival.
Bit expensive for what the accomodation was but I guess you mainly pay for being slap bang in the centre of Alnwick. Room was cozy and a bit warm and stuffy even when the window was opened. My wife found the bed a bit uncomfortable although it was OK for me. Bathroom small but perfectly adequate for our needs.
Breakfast included and was very nice indeed. Didn't eat there this time but have done in the past and it is of a high standard.
All in all a good comfoftable place to stay if you want to be in the centre of Alnwick near all the tourist attractions.

I booked a night at this venue due to attending a friend's wedding reception at the nearby Alnwick Castle and because of the good reviews it had previously been given. Both myself and my fiancee were very impressed from our arrival to when we eventually departed. The location of the accommodation is very central, easy to find and ideal for visiting the town centre and the various tourist attractions including the castle. It also has its own adjacent private car park.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bedroom spotless and well equipped, including a comfortable bed and ensuite shower. All of the accommodation was freshly decorated.

We had breakfast in the restaurant the following morning and the service was spot on and the food well presented and of a high quality.

On leaving, we felt we had had real value for money, couldn't find fault at all and would certainly stay again. The customer service was far superior to the 4 star hotel we then stayed at in the Lake District after leaving Alnwick, which is certainly saying something!

On originally looking to book the accommodation in Alnwick earlier in the year, there were mixed reviews of some of the other hotels and guest houses that put us off them somewhat - references to owners with attitudes and run down facilities amongst others! To that end, I would fully recommend the Tower Restaurant accommodation if you are looking for somewhere to stay, especially if you want somewhere convenient for Alnwick Castle.
