just the place to blow away any cobwebs. a tidy walk but not strenuous. muddy underfoot but worth the walk and interesting to take kids to. they can let their imagination run riot.

“A stumble back into history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

What a wonderful walk, from Craster to Dunstanburgh. Taking in the North Sea as it would have been for the anxious population as they awaited Norwegian visitors.. We have enjoyed the Castle and surrounding beaches and cliffs for years. This last trip was in mist. Recommended if you wish to relive medieval terror but best avoided if imminent cliff fall death is a concern.

“Fantastic ruins.”

Wonderful walk to the castle from Craster. Such an atmospheric ruin in a wonderful coastal setting. Don't forget to buy kippers and smoked fish in Craster.

“A good Northumbrian Castle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

We did not realise how much there was to see in this Castle. It is full of beautiful items collected by the Armstrong family. Well worth a visit if you are in the area

“Beautiful setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

The castle is built on the beach, despite being a ruin it is a magnificent sight. The walk from Craster is wonderful & well worth a visit.
