“Bird of Prey highlight of our castle visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Fantastic day out! We were lucky that the weather was dry because otherwise it wouldn't have been as enjoyable on a wet day. The castle grounds were immaculate and you could walk/sit on the grass! I would take a picnic next time because the food was a bit pricey. The bird of prey display was fascinating to watch. The commentary was very interesting too.

Next time I would like to visit the gardens too - on a warm, sunny day - maybe!

“autumn glory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

recently visited for the first time in the autumn season and just as magical, since you can see the bones of the garden. very well thought out with Halloween activites and a good vibe, kids and staff in fancy dress. the childcatcher was excellent.
now for the moan, why, when expecting half term visits and plenty of children, not have the castle grounds open along with the gardens, especially since it would make a great Halloween setting. and finally, whoever orders supplies, bah humbug, no hot chocolate on a very cold day. shame on you.

“Alnwick Gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

My visit was made on 31st October. Although the Castle was closed for a refurbishment, the Gardens offered excellent walks, a variety of water features, children's activities and an amusing accompanied tour of the 'poison garden'.

“Wonderful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

We visited Alnwick Castle and Gardens for the first time this year. There was lots going on for everyone - Harry Potter Quiddich training for the children and the Dungeons (if you dare!) for the adults. The free guided tours are worth taking as you learn so much more of the history than just reading the display. The Gardens are amazing and the waterfall is stunning. Nice cafe and very friendly and helpful staff. Will certainly visit again when next in Northumberland.

“Magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Step back in time, be amazed by an atmosphere that enters your imagination.
Alnwick Castle has it all. The Castle boasts a long connection with Harry Potter films and on its own merits can transport you back to the days of Knights and Ladies.
The views from the castle are wonderful and the famous gardens are more than just that.
ATree House, Poison Garden and Beautiful Water fall are among a few of the attractions on offer. Super shop and indoor Cafe with outdoor seating area too.
