“Sunday Lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Booked for Sunday lunch, 2pm and arrived on time. Bar staff pointed to table and handed me menus en route, we then sat and waited, no offer of a drink forthcoming! We waited, and waited then after 10 minutes the waitress did arrive she asked for the food order. I pointed out we would like a drink and off she went. 5 more minutes and had to ask again for drinks. Drinks finally arrived and the food 2 minutes later. 2 slices of dry Lamb, yorkies big but tough, veg very tasty and plenty of gravy to help moisten lamb and yorkies. No further service except to clear the plates. We payed and left. For £9.95 I've had much better Sunday lunch. Sorry but won't be rushing back.

“Loved it, loved it, loved it!”

The haddock and prawns with sautéed potatoes in creamy sauce was divine! Next time I might order two! Lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere in a lovely part of the world.

“Best fish and chips!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We were told this place was good for fish and chips and it certainly is. Ate in the restaurant rather than take away. All fab, particularly the home made tartare sauce. Worth a trip if you are in the area to the stunning beach at Low Newton and for a feast here!

Serves the classic dishes with amazing talent. Very family friendly. Kids menu excellent. Local ales. Fab food. Try the fish and chips, either in or as a takeaway.
