Walked past this place while having a walk around Alnwick with the wife and daughter and after reading the menu we decided to give it a go.The menu was interesting and very reasonably priced(starters under £5 mains around £6 - £7.50). My ham hock terrine was homemade and delicious and my wife's slow cooked beef in Alnwick ale was well seasoned and melted in the mouth. We had our 8 month old baby with us which can some times be awkward while eating out but the young lady in charge made us feel at complete ease and even spent time entertaining the baby. After speaking to the young lady she informed us she was the new manager along with her husband (the chef) and it was only their second day of opening. If this is a taste of things to come we will be back. Just what Alnwick needs, great food that doesn't cost a fortune.
