We had a great 4 days staying with Tom and Audrey . We were made so welcome on arrival with a cuppa and a chat in their beautiful cottage garden before showing us to our comfortable room .Breakfast was excellent with something for all tastes . With their sense of humour and our Yorkshire banter we had many laughs together Their sight-seeing knowledge helped us plan our activities with ease.

Having been in the B&B business for sixteen years we knew from the very first contact that Tom & Audrey were going to be excellent host's. We and our five friends were not disappointed everything was perfect. Book well in advance the good words are spreading to all our other friends. The Bowes will not let you down and the location is ideal for all the local attractions.

Audrey and Tom give hospitality their all, and Greycroft is certainly hospitable, from the unusual entrance (through the conservatory where you will admire the garden during breakfast), via the grand hall and stairs to your plush room which has all you'll need for a comfy stay. There's a cuppa on the way while you settle in so leave the bickies and chocs alone! This has only been a guest house for a year, and the conversion (including adding seven bathrooms) must have been a major task. As always, attention to detail has paid off.
One of my gripes with many places is uncorrected faults in radios, tvs, phones or (worst of all) bathrooms. Needless to say, at Greycroft everything works beautifully.
Alnwick looks a lovely place though we didn't have time to see much of it, but don't miss Barter Books at the former station.

An outstanding B&B. Delightful old house, beautifully and tastefully refurbished. Spotless and comfortable in a quiet cul-de-sac 2 mins from town centre. Welcomed by Tom and Audrey with tea in their pretty garden. Top of our list for the area.

Greycroft was great :)

Amazing welcome, mega-clean, great locally sourced breakfast.

Your hosts Audrey and Tom are probably the friendliest people we have met running a B&B. Very caring and attentive.

I am already recommending this to my family and friends.

Do not hesitate to book - we loved it - as did our 10 year old twins.

My husband and I have recently stayed in the Greycroft Guest House in Alnwick and we were delighted by the warm welcome from Tom and Audrey who work very hard to provide a very high standard accommodation. The "Red room" was wonderful. Very spacious, comfortable and was kept at an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness. Decor beautiful , room overlooking the garden. Breakfast superb, (recommend the kippers!) . The situation of Greycroft is only a short stroll to all amenities within the town and also Alnwick Castle and Gardens. When we are in the area again we shall return.

My husband and I stayed for two nights, whilst travelling up to Edinburgh for a friend's birthday. The Red Room was lovely, beautifully decorated and furnished, with a very comfortable bed and large shower in the ensuite. The breakfast was great, especially the oak-smoked Craster kipper, and there was lots of choice of cereals, fruit etc. Tom and Audrey made us very welcome, with lots of advice on places to eat and visit. The Tower Restaurant was very good, especially the steak and ale pie. Alnwick Garden is well worth a visit, with the fabulous casade and the unusual water features. The roses were beautiful and the treehouse really interesting. The Treehouse Restaurant has a limited lunchtime menu, but it was very enjoyable and worth a visit., (probably best to book). We would definitely go back to Greycroft again.
