“Overnight Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

I had the pleasure of stopping at the Greycroft for one night. We were met by Yvonne the owner who escorted us to our rooms. The first thing that struck me was the very high standard of the furniture bedding and how extremely clean the rooms were. My room had a nice large bed with with tea and coffee facility. The en suite shower is fantastic with high quality shampoo soaps and towels available. We requested early breakfast Yvonne prepared a first class start to the day with full English breakfast a very good choice of fruit juices jams and honey. The location is excellent with a 2 minute walk to the town center. I have spotted in many B/B on my travels but this B/B rates in the top 3. Excellent value for money I will be back

Room Tip: All the rooms are furnished to a very high standard

Lovely B&B. We stayed in September for 5 nights in the yellow room.
Couldn't fault it in anyway. Audrey and her staff were very helpful and pleasant and made our visit the more worthwhile.
Amenities at The Greycroft were more than adequate and the little touches complimentary sherry port & mead put it head & shoulders above any other guest house we have stayed in.We shall definitely in the new year.

Room Tip: I can highly recommend the yellow room beautiful & bright overlooking the garden.

This is a lovely B&B. We stayed in the 'Yellow Room' for 2 nights. The room was beautifully appointed, very comfortable bed and a sitting area which overlooked the walled garden. Large breakfast was very nice in the Atrium which also overlooked the garden. The owner, Audrey, made us feel right at home and had good recommendations for pubs and restaurants and the local sights in Alnwick. Everything within walking distance, including the castle. Can absolutely recommend, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. (Their website photos are a true reflection of the rooms).

We booked this B&B for three nights while exploring the Northumberland region during a 17 day trip to England. We booked the twin bed room and it was lovely. The breakfast was delicious and had everything we needed for a good starting meal of the day. This B&B is in a great location for exploring Alnwick and the local area. Thank you Audrey for such a great stay at Greycroft B&B!

This was our first - but not our last - visit to Northumberland and we couldn't have been made more at home than we were at Greycroft. A bright welcome from Audrey (Tom was sadly unwell) on arrival and as a previous reviewer commented, the most in depth and comprehensive briefing we've ever received which really made us feel that we had made a good choice (all in addition to receiving a confirmation e-mail with loads of information and website links when we booked). The rooms are very spacious, well appointed, warm - even though the weather was unseasonably good - and we slept like logs! Breakfast in the conservatory was excellent and very well cooked and presented. Audrey has a great sense of humour and we very much enjoyed regular banter, as well as her tips on when and where to visit. Good recommendations on where to eat too - the treehouse in Alnwick Garden was especially good. We hope to revisit the area and when we do, we know where we'll be staying! Congratulations, Tom and Audrey.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Red Room - very well appointed with a good view over the garden.

As the previous reviewer noted how can you not repeat what others have said. It is unusual not to be able to think of a single improvement but I'm struggling - even the weather was perfect. The welcome is comprehensive but not OTT, rooms are spacious, well appointed and very clean. Breakfast options almost unlimited and all excellent. Sitting in the conservatory for breakfast was a lovely experience watching the birds and mice. There is a lovely garden available to guests as well as a guest lounge with complimentary drinks.
Simply can't be beaten. Why didn't we come here before? We'll be back.
