“ONE DAY STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Stayed at the Beaconsfield B&B for 1 night and it was a great B&B, Jan came to meet us immediately and we felt at home straight away. There was tea and coffee in the room. I can not fault this B&B, the room was perfect and the breakfast even better would definitely go back there 5 out of 5

Room Tip: No 2 was good

My girlfriend and I were made warmly welcome upon entering the front door by the lovely Jan. The B&B was absolutely wonderful with spacious, clean rooms with en suite bathroom. Breakfast was also hearty and delicious. For those smokers amongst you Jan allows you to smoke in the rear yard which pleased my girlfriend emmensely!!
In summary this is an ideal place to stay. It's only a 5 minute walk from Alnwick town centre. Everything about the B&B is superb! Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. We'll definetly be back!!! Thank you Jan!

You couldnt really get better in this lovely town of Alnwick.
Jan and Henna are the most welcoming of hosts and really cannot do enough for you.
The B&B is spotless and beautifully decorated with real attention to comfortable detail.
With only 3 rooms you had better be quick to get booked in,but that means you have a hotel
that is peaceful, in a great location for the town centre but also with easy access for getting in and out by car.
The breakfasts are great with good choice and the hosts are available for advise on where to go and enjoy your holiday. In addition I can thoroughly recommend for families, with Jan and Henna giving great attention to our 3 year old..a real bonus if your a parent in a place you havnt been before.
This is also the place to stay to easily see the rest of Northumberland, with most things being really no more than 30-40mins away.
Book now before someone else does! (and get some great friendly Geordie hospitality!)

Room Tip: Ask for the front red room, lovely bright and cheery

A party of four of us stayed here for two nights whilst attending a family holiday. It is lovley well decorated and presented. Comfortably beds with a nice throw. Was greated by Jan and escorted to our rooms given a key and told we could come and go as we liked. Had a welcome pack with good information. Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits in your room and a mini fridge, hairdryer, ironing board and iron. Good size bathroom. Jan went away for the weekend but we were left in the good hands of her daughter who did us an excellent breakfast each day. The room was cleaned each day and replenished. Nice hand wash and hand cream, lovely little back garden. An excellent place to explore Alnwick from. Would recomend the Queens in Alnwick for lovely meals, was made to feel welcomed by the land lord. Its not too far to stager back to the Beaconsfield after and as we were all fit the little walk up the hill was fine. Near a lovely little church as well, with some excellent places to visit close by.

OK, it's a little bit of a heave up the hill after you've had a beer or two in the town-centre, but for that it's out of the way & quiet. My room, although small, was very comfortable & clean and even though the bathroom is not en-suite, I was rewarded with a bathroom of luxurious proportions and facilities, bathe shower, rest and philosophise... Breakfast is lovely & to order, rather than being a take-it-or-leave-it full English.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon Jan!

Have just got back from a 2 night stay at the Beaconsfield. What a lovely little gem in the heart of Alnwich this place was. Pleasent welcome from Jan the owner and wasnt bogged down with rules etc was just given a key and told to come and go as we please. The welcome pack gave us the times etc for checking out and breakfast service. On our first morning at the Beaconsfield my boyfriend and I decided to skip breakfast as we were feeling a little worse for wear and Jan came and knocked our door to make sure we hadnt over slept and were mssing breakfast if we wanted it. As smokers we was expecting to have to go out the front to have a cigarette but in the pack it said to ask where to smoke, it was in Jan's back yard, which at first i was jubious about keep trolling through the kitchen but was told by Jan to help ourselves through whenever we wanted and even when she was feeding her grandson it wasnt any bother to her that i wanted to walk through. On our second morning we had a lovely cooked breakfast made to order and the wait for it wasnt more than minutes. the room was very clean and well presented and has all the little extras that made this a very lovely stay along with a very fresh and clean en suite. When we left Jan was there to bid us a safe journey and to make us feel we was welcome back any time. it was no more than a 5 minute walk to the town/village, Alnwick castle and a very lovely restuarant that Jan recommends in her welcome pack. all in all i would highly recommend this gem to anyone going to stay in Alnwick.

My husband and I have just returned from staying at the Beaconsfield for a two night stay whilst attending a wedding. What a gem of a place it is and Jan is so helpful. We weren't arriving until late and so Jan dropped our keys off at another establishment in Alnwick which our friend was checking into earlier so that we didn't have to worry about what time we arrived. She is also posting an item of make up that I left in the room. The b&b is in a lovely position just a short walk from the Town Centre and attractions. Our room was lovely decorated, spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Also had an en suite with a good shower. There was an iron and ironing board in the room and lovely china cups for our tea. Breakfast was made fresh to order and was of good quality and plenty of it. I would recommend the Beaconsfield to anyone who is visiting Alnwick and hope that we get to go back there some time.
