“A firm family local favourite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

I love the Narrow Boat and my family and I visit regularly. The beautiful setting by the canal, the locally sourced British food, the design and interior are all fantastic. It is also a favourite with visiting friends & family. We even had Christmas lunch there this year & will be rebooking. I really cannot say enough good reasons to visit :-)

“Hard to beat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

A fabulous, gastronomic, venue. Sitting canal side with a lovely, family friendly, garden and decked area. Friendly staff. elegant interior. Refreshingly short, uncomplicated, but inspired menu. And real ale!!! All round great venue. I am looking forward to my next visit.

“Great.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Called in at lunch time for a quick bite. Asked for sandwiches and a soup. Quite unexpected as the ham sandwiches had beautiful off the bone ham and the soup was delicious. For three of us it all came to 12 Pounds. and was well worth it. Good to have welcoming staff. Makes the eating experience much more pleasureable.

“Very pleased, nice suprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

After mixed reviews we were a little nervous that we may have a frustrating evening, but no we had a lovely meal, service was great and we came back planning when to go again.
My wife had the crispy beef salad which she raved about and I had the cod and chips which was good but not great.
Not the cheapest meal but so often you get what you pay for which is true for the NB.

“Excellent food and accommodation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Stayed here one night as we were attending a family Engagement party locally in the area.
What a nice place. Room very clean and comfortable. Small but enough for a few days stay. The wife was even impressed with the shower.
The evening meal in bar/restaurant had a very good choice and combination of ingredients pleasantly interesting and well presented. All food sourced locally and freshly cooked, including the breakfast. Owners/managers and staff could not do enough to ensure a very relaxed stay and dining experience .
Would have no problems staying here again even just coming for a weekend break. Thanks.
