“Good travelodge :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

After the awful travel lodge stay that we had experinced earlier in our holiday, we were pleasently surprised when we arrived at the travelodge that we had chosen to stay in halfway home frmo Scotland.

Obviously not the best location for a holiday but absolotely perfect for stopping enroute somewhere. We booked two rooms and although the last travelodge placed us on a different floor to my grandparents (we assumed this was because we had our dog), we were happy to find out that we had rooms next to each other.

The staff member that we encountered was very helpful and was obliging when I asked for an extra pillow.

Food from burger king wihin the service station was pretty awful but would recommend the costa coffee, especially the paninis, who are open all night.

Room was modern, clean and there was no noise from outside. Large grass section conviently located accross the car park to walk the dog on last thing at night. Would definately recommend this hotel to other people.

Also large TV with freeview and good reception, nice shower and bathroom.

Fit for purpose - somewhere to camp out for one night en route, wouldn't want to stay there any longer. Good price and very basic, not the most comfortable bed in the world though. It's in a service area so not a great choice for food just a BK. Best idea is to pop into M&S for fresh milk and supplies as there's not much on offer at the travelodge. We didn't notice any motorway noise as our room was facing the carpark.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing away from the road to avoid traffic noise.

stayed here overnight to break the journey down south. Very pleasant helpful man on reception, clean room, comfortable bed, choice of bath/shower, TV (with freeview) tea making facillities (just thought having recently stayed in travelodge kew gardens, they offered biscuits which scotch corner did not!) - no problems. The man at reception offered for sale a breakfast bag, but also explained the choices and options in the service area, also opening/closing times etc, which was very helpful. It is what you pay for a room with basic facillities, would recommend to anyone. It was dark when i arrived, opened the blinds in the morning and was surprised at how close the moterway was, I was not disturbed at all by any noise. The burger king and M& S are more expensive than other ones. Got this for £28 for the room - a bargain for one person never mind two

Room Tip: I find you never get enough uth milk cartons for 2 cups of tea/coffee, having bought an expensive bu...

After seeing all this reviews I said I will try it. For this price I think you won't find any better in this area. It wasn't absolutely noise, and I had a good sleep here. So I recommend this accomodation.

We stayed here for 1 night, due to it's close proximity to Catteric Garrison. The room was fine, just what you expect from a Travelodge. They aren't as nice as Premier Inns etc, but they are cheap & cheerful. We paid £12 for the room, so couldn't complain. We took earplugs, as we knew that at a service station, it would be noisy. The guy on reception was polite, TV worked well, room was warm & comfortable. I would stay there again, if the price was right. A point to note is that as you approach Scotch corner, this hotel is actually on Scotch Corner, opposite the Scotch Corner Hotel (there are 2 fairly close).

Room was clean. No problems with noise. Bed was too soft but that is our preference. Very basic - more so than other budget hotels - with no pictures only white walls.Only two small pillows but more provided when asked. One hard seat.
We only wanted it as a stopover for one night so ok but would not have wanted to stay longer and of course it was very cheap so cannot complain.Little in the way of restaurants beside the hotel but receptionist highlighted a pub about half a mile down the road which she said was good (we didn't visit so cannot comment).

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms may hear people above moving about

We booked about a month prior to staying here and got the room for £29 so for that price I don't suppose we can complain to much. It was however cold in the room when we arrived with no heating on and the window blind up which didn't help. The room was very bland, white walls, white bedding, white shades, white blind ect. A picture would have been nice just to break the white up a little bit, all that did that though was the dirty marks on the wall near the bed.
The bed seemed to slant towards the middle and the shower was very uninviting with dirty grouting.
For one night you could put up with it but for any longer i'd look elsewhere.
