“B&B doesn't get any better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We spent 3 nights here at the end of August. Booking over the phone was a friendly experience and updates via texts was helpful. On arrival we found a spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed room and en-suite with excellent facilities. Daphne and Cliff were perfect hosts, helpful and friendly whilst being unobtrusive at the same time. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice and served in an airy and bright dining room which was up to the high standard of the rest of the property. The towel animals were a touch of genius! This is easily the best B&B we have stayed at and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at Glenlyn last October and couldn't wait to return which we did in August. We had another lovely, lovely stay in this immaculate, beautifully presented guest house. The rooms really are fautless. The beautiful garden is such a relaxing space and the flower tubs and baskets were truely stunning. Daphne and Cliff are lovely hosts which makes for a relaxing stay. The breakfast choices cater for all appetites and are consistently delicious. We can't wait to return and as I said to Daphne, I wish there was a "Glenlyn" wherever we visited! See you both again soon and thankyou!

Read the reviews on trip advisor prior to booking one night stay. Sounded too good to be true...BUT NO!!! Every comment written about Glen-Lyn is exactly as you will find this superb
B&B. It's a gem of a place and will most definitely be returning. We booked the twin bedded room which was surprisingly large with separate area with comfortable seating for two and large modern television. The whole place is immaculate with extra's usually found only in expensive hotels. 5* breakfast cooked by Daphne and served by Cliff who remained attentive with excellent service and friendliness, for example, extra fresh tea/coffee or toast etc. The garden is a pure joy and needs to be seen to be appreciated how lovely and relaxing they have made it for the guests to enjoy with seating area's to all aspects. Thank you to Daphne and Cliff, we will be back next year. Carole & Elaine x

Just came home after staying three nights at Glen-Lyn. it was the most comfortable, cleanest B&B we have ever stayed in. Everything was fresh and modern. No oldy world beds or bathrooms or dark dingy rooms and the gardens are beautiful and well kept. The bus stop is literally outside the gate for trips into different resorts and there is a shop/ post office on the opposite side of the road for all the bits you forget to take with you. Cliff and Daphne are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The diets are starting now after all the big breakfasts we had. We would reccomend Glen-Lyn to all. Thankyou Daphne and Cliff.

Room Tip: All rooms are on the ground floor with no noise whatsoever

This is our 3rd stay at Glen-Lyn in 14 months, and we can't wait to go back for our 4th...very soon we hope!!! It was as perfect as ever. Wonderful breakfasts cooked by Daphne and excellent table service from Cliff, who, as always, is extremely attentive, such a polite, friendly fella. Nothing is too much trouble for this couple as they give their whole hearts into making it your best holiday ever, they have thought of everything!
Loved the new outdoor seating area and pond, and really enjoyed catching the last of the evening sun in their beautiful garden with a glass of wine, heaven!!
This really is the only place to stay in the whole of North Yorkshire...we just would not consider anywhere else now. Hope to see you lovely people again very soon,
Carol & David.x

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

We usually stay at the Victoria Hotel in Robin Hoods Bay situate just down the road from Glenlyn, however having now stayed here this weekend I'm afraid the Victoria is a fond memory! Having read the reviews on here for the Glenlyn I did think it sounded a little too good to be true!
However! There really is nothing bad to say about this B&B whatsoever. It really is outstanding. Spotless, modern, excellent location and the added touches as mentioned in earlier reviews are perfect! I now understand why every review has rated them as excellent. Cannot wait to go back. Shame more hotels and B&B's don't have the same high standards. Well done Daphne and Cliff. See you next year!

Room Tip: We had room 4 which was lovely and I'm confident the other 3 would be too.
