We have stayed at this site for 3years in a row now but will definately not be putting anymore money in these greedy, unfriendly peoples back pockets! My husband & 3 children were in 1 tent & a friend of ours (who has been trough a terrible bereavment) came along wth her toddler in another. On the first couple of nights another friend with 2 sons(her husband was working away in Texas) came to keep our other friend company. On paying at reception i paid in full for ours as our booking would not be changing but as the other booking was alittle complicated i said i would just pay for 2adults and 3children for the duration of the stay to cause less complication, they were more than willing to take the extra money without question! On the third night me and my friend walked my 9year old son to the toilet at 11.45pm, something im sure any parent would do and just before the childrens park there was a bush and the warden came creeping out and said 'can you keep the noise down' to which i replied 'we are only going to the toilet then back to bed' obviously we found this disturbing as to why he was stood in the bushes so late at night?! The next morning we were talking to a lovely family opposite and they said the warden had came to their tent after he had approached us asking them to keep the volume down and they actually thought he was joking as they were just sat playing cards while their children slept, they said he was very rude also. On the Saturday our friend was due to depart but due to the lovely weather wanted to stay until the Sunday the owner came round and said that were was no room as they were fully booked so one tent woud have to come down, we did as we were asked and all just decided to stay in the 1tent for the last night. At about 7.30 that evening we decided to go and bath the smaller children ready for bed(a charge of £1 for the hot water!) and my friend was slightly ahead when just next to the childrens park the owner approached her and was so rude asking 'why are you still here, i want you and her(her 18month old daughter ) gone, all of this infront of a park full of people. When my friend tried to explain that we were sharing a tent for the last night and that she couldn't get home that late due to us coming in mine and my husbands cars and she didnt want to burden us with a lift he said 'i don't care how you get home but i want you off'. At this point i came along with my children and asked what the problem was and he said that there was too many in our tent 3adults, 2children and a baby, i offered to pay extra to which he replied no as it was due to insurance reasons to which i replied that some friends from home were actually stopping in a caravan 3 pitches down from us so 1 of our children could stop there without a problem and he still said no. He then started saying my friend was being deceptive and why was she here alone with a baby anyway, absolutely disgusting behaviour not gentlemanly at all! My friend then ended up in floods of tears and so upset bringing the bereavement back and why she was there alone. When approached by our friend(a man) who was staying in the caravan near us and asked if it would solve the problem by our son stpping with them he said it was fine!!So why cause all the upset for nothing! I am a nurse, my usband a company director and our friend a teacher so we are all nice professional, educated people who just wanted a nice few days away camping with our children to be spoilt by the rudeness of the site owners and wardens. They need to take a leaf out of the GOLDEN SQUARE, HELMSLEY ran by a wonderful farmer and gentleman and his wife, who have won Loo of the Year continually and would bend over backwards to assist you in anyway!!!!
