“Come Here ALL THE TIME”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Love this place! Cheeky chappy staff, fast service, delicious food and good portion sizes. It may be hidden away down an alley but dont let that put you off!

“No fur coat...Loads a Knickers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Best Curry House in town, without any shadow of a doubt (in fact best restaurant in town)... The flavours are all there, the meat is tender, the tandoori is very good, and the rice dishes are super... maybe a ittle oily for some, but definately not dry. This is a much more traditional curry house with none of the fancy nonsense of a place "to be seen eating in". I love it. If it's style and finesse in the decor, the flooring, the cornicing, curtains, chandeliers etc, then you're better off going to somewhere like the Mumtaz. But the Lion of Asia is a place to go and Eat! Staff are friendly too, without being pushy and pestering to buy more nans and rice. Further more, after reading some other reviews, when it comes to the food, I'm not sure they were even in the same restaurant. Hygeine rating is 5.

Waiter patient with a friend who isnt sure wot she wanted,he brought some samples which was nice. Would go back soon.

“Drab, musty and depressing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

The place has not been updated since I first went in the 70's. It smelt musty, the chairs were dates, the tables were cheaply covered. The food was good but more expensive that other Indian restaurants in the area. The waiter was attentive and well mannered. Unfortunately won't be going back due to the sad depressing decor. Sorry.
