whilst visiting my mother with my wife in Knaresborough ,we were treated to our lunch time meal at the Royal Oak. Being our first visit to this local treasure we did know what to expect.
We had the most amazing meal, totally different to what you would normally expect of a local Pub. The Royal Oak is a very traditional pub and very popular with the local populous as it was very busy both in the bar area and the resteraunt.
The staff were very pleasant and greeted us with a smile and told we could choose to sit wherever we wanted. Our drinks order was taken at the bar with only a short wait. Our meal order was then taken, Mum had Fish pie of which she said it was better than her own (shock ha ha). My wife had the Gammon and really enjoyed the meal of which it was a struggle to finish but she managed it . I had the Lamb Suet pudding with Veg and Gravy wow amazing, so tasty.
All the staff were pleasant and helpfull and the chefs presentation and production of the most tasty meals was brilliant and he looks amazing as the menu says he is 83 yrs old, Must be the local beer need to get some.
The Building itself is a traditional style pub with a great atmosphere and importantly everywhere was spotless especially the toilets.
Thank you to the management and staff for a lovely experience. Will definately visit again.
