Travelled down here unfortunately for a funeral. Having driven for about six hours, check in was smooth and painless. For the money, the rooms were pretty much as expected. We had three rooms and each one was clean, tea & coffee facilities, telly. Bedding was clean, bed was comfortable. Basic but good.
Breakfast can be ordered for about £7, but we chose to hit McDonalds 2minutes away. We did have drinks in the (busy) bar and all was good. There were various meal offers, the most popular one seemed to be, Curry, poppadom and a pint for £4.99. Bar staff were friendly and helpful.
Incidentally, our was on the first floor above the entrance to the pub. Oh great, I thought. People standing in the doorway smoking, shouting/talking loudly etc. Never heard a peep. No noise and a comfy night's sleep.
I will stay again, hopefully not for a funeral!!
