“golf society week-end”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

16 golfers aged from 18 to 60+,if you are thinking of playing this course MAKE SURE YOU HIRE A BUGGY, whilest the views from the top are fantastic i would hate to walk up there.with most of the greens its like playing target golf they are very small.
The food was on the good and a decent menu.
The staff were very friendly and a credit to the management and owners.
One issue with buggies was sorted without much fuss,THANK YOU NIGEL.
The bar at times was a little under staffed but this was due to the number of weddings.
Overall i would say for the price we paid £187.50 for three games of golf including buggy hire, dinner ,bed, breakfast we got a bargain.
give it a go you won`t be dissappointed

Thank you for taking time to post your review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us including the golf. I'm sure you'll agree that the course and its views are spectacular. I have passed your comments onto the staff at our weekly meeting. Once again thank you very much and we hope to welcome you back here at Mytton Fold in the not too distant future.

We just wanted to say how amazing Mytton Fold was for our wedding this weekend. On our first meeting with Donna we were welcomed and showed around, she was so lovely. The venue is set up for weddings and we were helped every step of the way with friendly staff. Donna was professional and answered any of our questions - never worrying how much we rung her for litte things. The week before she went through every detail and nothing was missed.
The day itself was perfect - from the drinks on arrival, with Michael (who we can't praise highly enough) talking to us to make sure we knew when the cake was being cut, first dance time etc. The little touches such as all the corks being popped at the same time for our toasts and we were given a plate of buffet food to take to bed at the end of the night because they had noticed we hadn't had time to get any - so sweet! We had a bottle of champagne in the bridal suite, which was a lovely touch.
Everyone commented on how good the food was both the sit down meal and the buffet. We felt it was reasonably priced so were pleased everyone thought it was delicious.
We would definitely recommend this venue as the ideal place to get married - what a great start to our married life!! Thank you.

Room Tip: Try and book a room in the new block, they are ultra modern and fresh looking

Thank you so much for writing your lovely review. My staff and I are delighted that you both had a wonderful day and night with us. We love our Bride and Grooms to have as little to worry about as possible and we find it is usually the little personal touches that make all the difference. Delighted to have helped you on your way in your married life.

We had looked at number of venues and when we viewed Mytton Fold we just knew it was the place for us, in a lovely country setting and open views.
We had our wedding reception in the Ribble Suite, nothing could have spoilt the ceremony, the day or the wedding breakfast, despite the shocking torrential rain we had a wonderful, magical time, great atmosphere and everything was perfect. The layout of the room for the ceremony was great for our guests, the staff at Mytton had put the chairs in a fan shape so had a softer edge. The food was lovely, well cooked and nicely presented. We had 34 guests on 6 big tables set in a circle. Before our guests came through for the wedding breakfast the Mytton staff called us through to see if we were happy with the arrangement of the table which was a nice touch, I only wish they had done the same before the evening reception.

For the evening reception we have a few mixed views. The Ribble Suite is effectively 2 big rooms with interconnecting double doors towards the back and both have access doors at the front of the room. In the evening the tables in the ceremony room are pushed back for the laying of the dance floor, in theory that works but doesn’t quite work in practice. When guests were coming into the dance room through the access doors it made it very difficult for them to squeeze through the tables as it was rather compact. So we decided to close those doors and have guests coming into the bar area directly. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was that there were only 34 seats (from the wedding breakfast) for 140 guests in the, now, evening reception/dance room and 6 big tables, but in the bar area were loadsssss of seating and small drink tables, away from the dance floor and music!!
Don’t get me wrong the Ribble Suite is intimate, cosy and has loads of addition space but I only wish the seating/table arrangement had been better planned out for the evening reception, with much more seating and small tables in the evening reception/dance room.

The buffet is set in a side room, that works well as the disco doesn’t need to stop, the lights don’t need to go on, the food smells and general kitchen feel don’t figure in the evening.

Accommodation is lovely we had nothing but positive comments from our guests.

But please go and see the Ribble Suite at Mytton Fold for yourself, it really is worth a look because the gardens and photo opportunities are great.

All in all the wedding ceremony and breakfast was our highlight.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write and post your review. We are delighted that you and your guests had a wonderful time. I am sorry if you felt there was too little setting in the Ribble Suite for the evening reception, my manager assures me there were 66 chairs in there for the night. We do find that a lot a guests gravitate to the quieter bar area to chat leaving the ardent party goers on the dance floot!! We look forward to welcoming you both back to BEST WESTERN Mytton Fold sometime soon.

fantastic venue(the big room), fantastic views, fantastic food, fantastic staff, fantastic wedding(26/08).

My niggle and the reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that as father of the bride and having spent a few bob I should have been allocated a better room which grated a bit. I am sure that this was an oversight as everything else was perfect.

Room Tip: go for the new rooms!

We had our Wedding here on the 17th August 2012 and it was by far the best day of our lives. From the moment we first walked into Mytton Fold some 18 months ago we knew this was the venue for us. The staff are all very welcoming and the grounds and the Abbey Suite are the perfect place to host the big day. Special mention has to go to Donna who was there for us from day one and nothing was too much trouble and she was always there to guide us through all things to do with our wedding. Donna was also there on the day and without her I would have probably forgotten to put in my button hole!!!! All the staff on the day were brilliant, from the moment I arrived David who was setting up the room was friendly and helpful and put up with me constantly asking questions. Michael and Lisa were also very helpful and friendly and when we had a slight drama with the DJ they did everything they could to resolve it and for that I could not thank them enough. The food was first class and all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the day, the venue and the food. To quote one guest 'Brilliant Day you nailed it'!!! Thanks to all the staff and we would definitely recommend Mytton Fold as the perfect place to have your wedding. Thanks Mr and Mrs Marston.

We stayed as a family of 5 last week at the hotel for just one night, from the time we called to book to the time we checked out the staff were the most friendly I have ever experienced from a hotel. The lady who booked us sent an email to tell us they had re-jigged the rooms to allow us a room with an anex so all our kids had a bed - aged 15, 13 and 5. The room was great once we got the aircon cranked up!! The bed was very comfortable and we got a great nights sleep. We didn't stay for evening meal but had breakfast in the morning. The staff were again, totally accommodating, nothing was too much trouble - and they spoke English, something of a novelty it seems these days. The food was nice and plenty of choice. I didn't get to play golf, but would like to try one day, I wouldn't hesitate to come back, thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed one night for work so was there for about 12 hours and didn't eat anything. Nice room with good TV and a sound nights sleep.
Bathroom let it down which was tired and the shower head in much need of some Mr Muscle.
For £50 though not bad
