“Come on folks, you are slipping!!! :-(”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

I have previously reviewed Akash and back then I had little or nothing in any way negative to say; indeed it has been our Indian restaurant of choice for many years now, including an occasional take away when we feel idle and want to nosh in front of the goggle box. The food has always been superb and the staff friendly and attentive. The value for money too has always been excellent.

But lately their standards appear to have been slipping, and rather too quickly for my liking.

We have recently had two take-aways and also eaten in twice, telling ourselves that the falling standards we were finding in the food quality must be transitory, however four negatives in rapid succession have left us wondering if Akash have changed their chef. The staff appear to be the same friendly, pleasant crew so I don't think it is a case of new ownership, though of course anything is possible.

Whatever the reason we won't be going back for a while, as we are fervently hoping that Akash weathers the storm and arises like the proverbial phoenix from the ashes of their recent slump into mediocrity.

“Footloose on a Saturday evening!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Very accommodating, very busy, good food and very good service. We didn't book and went "on spec" but the maître de sorted out a table despite the fact that they were very busy and their professionalism was great. Many thanks.

“Delicious Indian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Have been eating here for years and is still soooo good. Always go with my grandma, since I have kids now we tend to get take away as its easier with the kids. We LOVE Indian food as my grandfather was Indian its in our blood!!!! And this restaurant never fails to impress. Have tried many dishes but the prawn bhuna is one of my favourites and the tarka daal yum yum yum!!! When you eat in you get poppadums with chutneys and riata. It's always delish def recommend a visit!!!!

“Poor Again!!!!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

2nd time this year we have visited the Akash, and again very disappointed, the first time in feb we had popadoms then waited 45 min for a starter, before we decided to walk out.
only to be told it was £10.something for drinks and popadoms.

Today we again visited to give it the benefit of the doubt as we been here lots of times before.

But again disappointment.

Food of poor quailty, knifes and forks more or less thrown on the table.

Keema Naan we complain about, was like a compressed tomato puree, then was told its been like that for a couple of years, when we said it wasnt like this last time, was told we must off been else where to have it differently!!!

Bank Holiday weekend and quite for a reason!!!

VERY POOR
