“wedding venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

we booked our wedding here and had a fabulous day, gina our wedding co-ordinator took us through everything before hand and gave us an executive room as I didnt like the bridal suites (bit dark and dingy). The wardrobe wouldnt close but it was large and spacious and they bought extra towels when asked as there were all the bridesmaids and friends getting ready. On the day we had a pamper session first in cleopatras, sam couldnt do enough for us even giving our 5 year old flower girl a little manicure, she then came up to our room and did our wedding make-up which we had trialled a month before. We had room service which was ok although the waiter who delivered it was a bit grumpy when we asked for another meal. The service was lovely and very informal making us all laugh, we then went to the village pub while we had our photos taken. The photos looked great by the pagoda and the lake. Mike co-ordinated everything brilliantly and told us where to go and when. The food was fabulous including a dessert with our initials on. we had a casino which killed time while they changed the room for the evening and was great fun. The only thing I can fault is the evening guests tended to stay in the room that was separate from the DJ and the lights were on bright all night, these should have been dimmed earlier and maybe the guests would have danced more. The wedding breakfast was lovely with champagne served to us in our room. Some of the guests stayed in the village rooms which werent great and they mentioned the blue lights in the bathroom which meant they couldn't do their make up in there. overall we had a fabulous day and the staff with a few exceptions were fabulous.

I have stayed at the Park Hall Hotel more than 10 times and I keep coming back. I have stayed in other local hotels in the same price range, and I am certain that Park Hall offers the best experience. The food is very good indeed, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, rooms and public spaces are all clean, attractive and modern, if perhaps not cutting edge.

If you want to stay in a pseudo-art-gallery, stay elsewhere. If you want to be looked after with a great bar, good tasty food and by really nice people - I don't think you can go wrong here.

I also think the advance book - DBB rate is unbelievably good value!

Room Tip: Smokers may like to request the balcony or terrace rooms in the main hotel, if they would prefer not...

Stayed here a number of times now and I have to say I do not understand the negative reviews.

Ok the place is not a new hotel and therefore some dinks and dents are in place.

But this is a well appointed hotel with good restaurant, excellent gym and pool and all the rooms I have stayed in have been spacious and well appointed, and my average spend is under £60 a night.

Gets only 4 stars because there seems to be a thing with the doors on the chalet rooms whereby they all stick to some degree.

Room Tip: Try the different rates as sometimes one can be much cheaper than the others. Rooms in the main bui...

I arrived really late, but found hotel staff welcoming and room whcih had been recently refurbished very clean and comfortable. Had breakfast in the morning (they cook it for you which is always nicer!) and overall I would recommend for an overnight stay and perhaps even longer. I did travel out of the theme park season, but they are trying to make it right and I will be going back....

We came here to a concert (Gerry & the Pacemakers) and decided to take advantage of the offer of a fixed-price pre-concert meal - so sorry we did!
Before the complaints let me say that the concert was wonderful and the general atmosphere and setting of the hotel were great too. With proper management this could be a really good hotel.
However! We had paid in advance and, fortunately, I brought along the letter of confirmation as otherwise I don't think we would have got our meal as there was no record of the booking. After much fussing with tables they eventually found one for us. Unfortunately the chaos didn't end there, although our drinks order was taken immediately and bread offered to us quickly, we then waited an age before we were able to find someone to take our food order. All the while waiters kept coming to our table with food that was obviously for others - as it certainly wasn't ours. We were also offered the wrong drinks and I noticed the waiter trying to give another table our drinks! The meal took an age and, at the end of it, the people on the table next to us got our drinks Bill.
The food was very poor quality, only the soup was acceptable, the rest was less than average.
The whole fiasco took so long (we arrived at 7:30 and the concert - in the same complex - was at 9:30) we were only just in time for the concert!
All the staff- who incidentally were friendly, helpful and obviously trying their best - were very young and inexperienced. There didn't appear to be anyone older and more experienced to guide and control. Utter shambles! If we come to another concert here we'll be eating elsewhere.
