“Last Drop Village ..Bromley x”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

stayed here for 2 nights and i have to say we enjoyed it .. we had a family room in the executive suite which is situated to the side of the main Hotel and its very quiet which was ideal as i am a light sleeper ..the beds were very comfy the room was very large and so was the bathroom .. shampoo, shower gel , and large fluffy towels were all included .Kettle , hairdrier ,iron and ironing board are tucked away in the wardrobe .. we did not eat in the restaurant as it looked pricey, but we did know of the Toby Carvery in Crompton Way 5 mins drive away, they do all u can eat meals plus breakfast from 9am very cheap .. Imogen on Reception was very helpful too.. we enjoyed our couple of days and are hoping to go back in August ...

Room Tip: room 309 was our room ..very nice .. 1 double bed and 2 singles free wifi

I went on a spa package to the Last Drop for a night with a group of girls for birthday. The hotel was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The gardens and court yard was very quirky with little shops and a pub.
The pool and sauana area was lovely and I really enjoyed the outside hot pool. I have a swedish massage done by Sophie and then sat in the chillout area waiting for the rest of my group.
The 3 course meal was nice and filling the only down side was the price of alcohol a bottle of Peroni £4.50 and a short £5. I dont drink so it didnt really matter to me.
Didnt want to come home as it was a nice chilled out night

I've stayed in Hotels from Volgograd to New York on every continent and this is the most bizarre!
It is a complex built on an old farming hamlet, incorporating the old farm manor and surrounding workers cottages. It was converted into the hotel and 'mock' tudor village in the 1960's.
The hotel is nice with the staff we met in the hotel and spa all being helpful, efficient and friendly.
We had specifically booked a twin room but had been given a double, but this was quickly changed by reception staff.
My friend and I were on a spa break deal. Our treatments were good and the therapists were competent and friendly. Our package included bathrobes and slippers.
The relaxation area had 8 large comfy leather chairs and there was another area with tables and chairs. As it was very busy, people were getting a little 'stressed' over seat availability.
The leisure facilities were okay. A good sized, rectangular pool and a decent sized thermal suite with a jacuzzi, two saunas and 3 not so warm, in fact tepid, steam rooms. Areas of the spa were a bit 'faded and jaded'.
The room was nice, a great size, with a queen size bed and a single, with a lovely clean and modern bathroom.
The restaurant and bar were, well, just weird! It was like sitting in a converted mock tudor barn!! The public areas really are in need of updating and bringing into the 21st century! The bar is listed as a cocktail bar - it isn't.
The food, however, was super. We had afternoon tea in the spa and dinner and both were excellent. The afternoon tea was large with 4 different really lovely sandwiches, a scone with jam and clotted cream and a selection of 3 mini cakes.
The dinner package was a set menu of the day with a choice of 4 starters & mains. The food was beautifully presented and of a surprisingly high standard.
The tea shop in the village was less good; understaffed with un defrosted cakes and slightly stroppy staff.

Went here as on overnight stay as a couple. We arrived pretty late, 9:30pm and were worried that food would no longer be served but thankfully they were still serving in the bar area until 10pm. I had the chicken Caesar salad and I have to say it was delicious. The food and drinks are expensive but as a one off it's ok. Staff at the bar & reception were friendly and helpful.
The room itself was very clean however I did find it a bit dates, especially the curtains and carpets. This can be said throughout the hotel, it just needs updating in some areas. But very clean.
Breakfast was lovely, hot and cold buffet. The scrambled eggs were the best I've ever tasted, high quality food. I especially liked the freshly baked bread that you could slice yourself on the cold buffet.
The spa is also dated. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not working, but we were informed of this so no complaints there. The saunas were not as hot as they should be for a sauna, and to be honest the spa area doesn't look like it's totally finished.
Overall happy with our stay and would stay again :)

We spent the day and night at a wedding function in the Penny Farthing suite and whilst the food was ok the service was poor, especially at the bar.
For starters there weren't enough staff on duty and the ones who were were clueless and rude. There weren't enough glasses to go round and changing a barrel appeared to involve every member of staff. Infuriatingly no attention was paid to the how long customers had been waiting. A glass of £5 wine tasted of bleach but the bar staff weren't interested - I had to inform them that they were going to replace it free of charge and was made to feel like I was responsible for the contamination.
I would struggle to recommend this place but thankfully they didn't quite manage to spoil a special day.

Dear NMyers 65

It is with some dissapointment that I read your review as we are very proud of our customer care here at the hotel and more so with our Weddings as we understand this is the most important day in our guests lives.

Please be assured we received very good feedback from our Bride & Groom in question for the function you mention here so I can only assure you if you felt our bar service was not good enough this was only a blip during the days events.

If there are corrective actions to be made following your review please be assured they will be.

Many Thanks

I travelled to this hotel with some friends in March this year, it was to celebrate my Birthday! We used the spa facilities, which were very relaxing and enjoyed by all the group. It was just an overnight stay. The food in the hotel was of a high standard and the service by staff was excellent. The room was very clean and we were all given a very warm welcome! I would certainly rerturn to the last Drop Inn, mainly to use the spa facilities at the mercure hotel. Where it is located is very good too!
