“Clean, welcoming hotel with lovely views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

Plenty of parking along the road. Lovely staff who are very helpful. Clean bright room overlooking the sea. Nicely decorated with plenty of space and good bathroom. Even though there was a wedding going on we were not disturbed. Very good breakfast. All in all a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view is always going to be a better choice.

A Sheperd and Neame managed hotel by the seaside . Young and enthusiastic staff Run a nicely refurbished hotel. Food is average stairs are numerous and parking can be problem due to This venue being popular with the locals.

We were really impressed with our recent stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had afternoon tea in the Orangery which was good value for money and a good selection of sandwiches lovely homemade scones and cakes. Our room which overlooked the beach, was clean and comfortable.
We had drinks in the bar, which was very busy due to a function on that evening, but the service was quick.
Our breakfast the next morning contained a good choice of all locally sourced products.
We would definitely stay here again.

late Valentines break to Whitstable and we were lucky to find availability at this little gem of a hotel - very impressed with the quality throughout -the renovation that was done in 2013 is very nice indeed - although contemporary in design it retains a certain charm and feel.
They have a very Cosy bar area and I loved the wonderful amenities in the bedrooms .Very friendly and helpful reception and attentive service in both the bar and restaurant . We only had the chance to eat breakfast in the restaurant - which was very good indeed.. ( great a la carte breakfast choices and quality from full cooked through to kippers or eggs benedict)
next time we will def. book dinner as well,
The hotel is a leisurely 10 minute walk into the town and its location opposite the beach is wonderful ...All in all our first impressions of this charming resort and hotel was excellent and we will def. be back

Room Tip: 2 rooms are even dog friendly .. Worth paying the small supplement for the great sea views if they h...

We took my father in law here for his 90th birthday. We had wonderful rooms with balconies overlooking the sea. the hotel has recently been fully refurbished. the rooms are delightful with all amenities you could want. The staff are charming and the food in both the restaurant and the bar is excellent and good value for money. There is also a coffee lounge serving, in our opinion, the best coffee in whitstable.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more for a sea facing room with a balcony, especially if you go in summer - it is well wor...

It was a joy to arrive at The Marine after driving through the February storms and a long taxing day - a warm welcome at Reception; chic modern decor; a clean bright modern comfortable room with sea view and white bathroom....sadly no bath, my only quibble.

Delicious dinner in the cosy bar restaurant - I didn't feel like eating in the formal dining room but it also looked inviting - good lighting, fire blazing, charming young waiter, comfy armchairs and yummy crab linguine.

I would certainly return to the Marine.

Really glad we booked a sea-view room. Looking out the other way would have been sad! Room was great - well decorated, felt comfortable and inviting. Staff were friendly on reception even though they were very busy. Breakfast was good too.
