“A real gem”

The Pearl Fisher

The Pearl Fisher is just off the main high street and is a real tardis, it doesn't look big from outside, but once inside the rooms just go on and on. We were lucky enough to book the Garden Room which has its own private entrance and looks out onto the peaceful garden, you get first dibs on having breakfast under the gazebo in the morning (sadly it rained so we ate inside). The breakfast was freshly cooked to order in the morning and the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. I would definitely go back. Gary and Jan are lovely hosts, they make you feel like you've known them for years.

I booked the evening of our 5th Anniversary as a surprise for my husband. We live 35 minutes down the train line from Whitstable, and have enjoyed it on previous day trips. We were having lunch at the Crab & Winkle, and I thought as we couldn't afford to get away for the whole weekend, it being Easter Weekend, that we at least deserved one evening to ourselves without the kids & the cats!

Gary was very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival, and the room was amazing. We checked in prior to lunch to freshen up, and it was difficult to leave the room it was so comfy.

When we came back after going out again in the evening to find the bed had been turned down and there were chocolates, we just knew we'd booked a perfect "old fashioned" B&B concerned with customer service.

The Full English the next morning was just that - "starters" of cereal, fruit and yogurt, followed by an amazing cooked breakfast. The bacon was perfectly cooked and the sausage was incredibly tasty. I had poached eggs and my husband had fried, and both types came out fantastic. It was fabulous eating such a wonderful big breakfast that I didn't have to cook myself!

We've stayed in B&Bs in the West Country, the South Coast and in London, and The Pearl Fisher is by far and away the best one we've ever stayed in. We didn't want to leave - but we'll definitely be back!!! Gary & Jan are the perfect hosts and their establishment is the perfect escape from the rest of the world.

“A genuine pearl!”

We have just returned from an overnight stay in this wonderful B&B. Jan and Gary couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We had booked for ourselves and for a couple of friends, and were given the Old Saybrook and Garden rooms. Both were beautifully decorated according to theme, and when shown to our room we found thick white towels in a pile at the end of our Queen-sized bed, tied with ribbon and topped with a scented flower. We wanted for nothing - facilities to make a variety of teas and coffee; a filter jug of water and a bottle of sparkling mineral water should you prefer; thick, soft, white bathrobes for use in the sparkling shower room; hairdryer; TV: reading matter etc. etc! When we returned from our party, it was to find that the tea and coffee things had been washed and replenished, the bed turned down and a chocolate placed on each pillow!! The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and when we did eventually wake and go to breakfast, it was to find a veritable feast!! Fresh pineapple, melon, kiwis, raspberries and strawberries, prunes and apricots, a variety of yoghurts and cereals; a terific choice of what to include in the "Full English" which was hot and fresh-cooked; freshly toasted bread and copious quantities of tea or coffee.
Sadly we seldom find ourselves in this part of the UK, but should we ever have cause to visit this area again, we will be making a bee-line to the Pearl Fisher. We couldn't recommend it highly enough!

“A Great Escape”

My husband and I escaped for the weekend to hit the pause button. The Windsor Room at The Pearl Fisher was just what we needed.
Such a comfy bed, with the romanticism of a four-poster!
Great details like complimentary papers, the first time I've managed to read the weekend papers properly for ages, turned down beds, with chocolates!
Breakfasts were lovely, freshly cooked to order at a time that suits you, with a good range of cereals, fruit and yogurts.
Genuinely friendly, helpful and interested hosts.
The easy walk into town meant we didn't use the car either once we'd got there.
Great Stuff.

“Warmest welcome in Whitstable”

The Pearl Fisher

You won't be dissappointed with this friendly B&B in short-walking distance from Whitstable's harbour. A warm welcome awaits all visitors from Jan and Gary who pride themselves on the interesting and cosy themes of the rooms they have designed themselves.
We five stayed in the Awabi suite and benefited from the spaciousness of the two rooms plus bathroom, and including the kitchenette. Comfy beds and two TVs to deal with the conflicting interests of 3 children! After a good night's sleep, ahearty breakfast cooked to order at your selected time. Parking is off the road at the back of the garden. We couldn't have wished for anything more and were very happy with the price. Thanks very much to Jan and Gary.
