“Good as always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Fantastic value for money, lovely staff and good food - what else could you want from a restaurant. You can sit outside (weather permitting of course) and watch Tenterden walk by. A lovely spot

“Excellent customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

After having issues with the lemon tree regarding my wife's allergy we strolled down the high st to Zest. The waiter (poss Steven) was so positive that they could cope with her dietry requirements and we felt safe eating there. He arranged for a salad to her specifications and I had something from the menu. Both meals were tasty and good quality and VFM. When I gave him he tip he said it goes in the basket, we are a team. As a result we will eat in Zest in future and have already recommended to friends.

“Great Scones”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

Lovely sunny day sitting outside eating cream scones and jam. Big pot of tea and good service. Envied the full works people were having nearby. Crustless sandwiches, cakes on a stand, scones the lot. On menu this was (the deluxe tea)? about £16 for two, seemed a bargain. I'll save that for next time!

“Wish we hadn't bothered”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

It was the only place open in Tenterden on Sunday - it is a bit tired inside and we were met by a waiter who was wizzing about but not getting anything done - you know the type. What annoys me is when you are paying £6.00 for a sandwich and it says farmhouse bread you expect what it says not a 2 day old stale loaf from a supermarket. The salad garnish was on the turn and the "creamy" was too much - probably ordinary supermarket coleslaw with added mayonnaise. I am sure it is fine for a tea or a coffee but at those prices don't bother with the lunch menu - very very disappointing. Then we had to ask to pay - we did ask the waiter but he took two more orders and served 3 people and then remembered us as we stood up. No tip left. Which is unusual for us. Also if you see my other reviews I rarely write a bad one. But this was one place that needed the owners and people to know there are issues here that need addressing or customers will not return - like us.

Thanks for your review, suprised to hear you comments, especially about Steve if you read the other reviews they are extremely positive about him normally. We use farmhouse bread for our sandwiches, make our own coleslaw, make all our own fillings, don't quite know why you didn't enjoy your sandwich?

“REAL VALUE FOR MONEY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

Good, honest food, served by polite and helpful staff. Portions ''just right'' and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly return if I were in Tenterden on another occasion and would recommend to others.
