Welcomed by name on arrival. Was given a thorough tour of our property for three days, two nights. This was the Gardner’s Cottage, a three bedroom house that is let exclusively whether one bedroom is to be occupied or all three. Top quality for a B&B. Bumped into the owner when unloading the car. Had a good chat and felt very welcome. This really was a home from home. Although price is at the top end. It was worth every hard earned penny. House was clean. Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk, Fruit, 6 various bottles of spirits, loads of mixers, 4 bottles of lager in fridge and plenty more in a cupboard. All this was complimentary. Lovely bathroom and the best bed I have ever slept in away from home. Happy days. Some small gripes. The Freeview signal was poor resulting in some blacking out of the TV screen. No DVD which if provided would have given us some interrupted viewing and the wireless internet was also very poor rendering access to the internet almost impossible. Breakfast was excellent. A great choice of cereals, fruit juices and hot food dishes. My wife went for the eggs benedict whilst I chose a selection from the full English. Was asked on arrival our choice of newspapers and these awaited us on arrival for our breakfast. Nothing was too much for our hosts. Included in our trip was full use of the ‘Secret Gardens’. There is also a beautifully stocked gift shop and a small but lovely tea room on site. Not only the best B&B by far but also better than all the hotels we have stayed in. We would highly recommend The Salutation to one and all. DC
