“Very nice Indian restaurant in Margate, but not really a culinary dream”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

This place has great reviews. The meal I had there was nice, and the staff friendly. But had I just stumbled across it as a restaurant ... don't think I'd have really thought it was that amazing. Decor a bit old fashioned, and while food tasty ... not that innovative or "anything new".

Delicious special quirky Indian food. And pushing their artful set tasting meals. People come from far and wide.

“Marvellous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We visited last Saturday for lunch, and what a treat this was. Superb value for money, with lots of extras including a very delicious mushroom and cardoman soup... Highly recommended!!

“Agree it's no longer a delight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful restaurant on a hill where the Prince of Cuisine cooked the most delicious food and the citizens of the kingdom travelled miles to frequent his magical establishment . . . Unfortunately, the fairytale has ended. I ate here in December and January and both the food and the service have gone downhill. It needs an updated menu, a more attentive, less-patronising staff, more of the special touches that made this place famous and a critical eye at the prices, especially the added service charge!!!!! I won't be back and having the waiter inform me it is the best restaurant in the South East doesn't actually make it so! I do not take any joy in relating any of this, it is such a shame.
