“Great atmosphere, great beer and great cider.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2014 NEW

This place is a really cosy place to go, especially with friends, and especially when there is live music on, which there frequently is. It's a rough and ready converted old building, with sawdust on the floor, barrels for tables, and a massive open log fire in the rear section. There is always a selection of excellent real ales, all served direct from the barrel, and beautifully kept, and the "wall of cider" is to be marvelled at...literally a wall made up of ciders in boxes with taps fitted for dispensing. There is food on offer too, which always loooks good, though I haven't sampled it yet. I have been to this place many times, both as a performer and as a drinker, and doubtlessly will visit many more times. A lively, fun place to go.

“Good beer, food and company.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2014

We were looking for somewhere to eat in the afternoon, and, as usual, most places had shut after lunch. We found the Lighthouse and decided to take a chance. We were greeted with a big smile as we entered. There was sawdust on the floor and a roaring log fire with long wooded benches to sit and eat. We ordered pie and mash and then were asked what drink we wanted. There was a fantastic choice of barreled beer and cider, all local to Kent. We had a very dark beer that reminded me of an old Kent brewery called Cobs. Apparently the pub is very busy at night, but there were only three other customers while we were there, and we all got chatting. It was cold outside, but the fire, the food, and company were great.
We promised that we would be back again, and we will be, especially for the beer and cider.

“Amazing little place ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2014

We had gone to Margate for a relaxing weekend and headed down the side streets and came across this little place.

We walked in and our first impression was WOW. It is so quaint, there is sawdust on the floor, a roaring fire in the back and lovely staff serving. We ordered some cheeses for lunch and they came with crackers, sliced bread and some chutneys. They have a great selection of real ales and ciders.

We loved this place and didn't really want to leave.

“Cheese and cider anyone?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2014

During the day this small pub provides the inner man with home-made pies, about every cider in barrel made in Kent and the same goes for a good range of local cheeses. What more could one want for lunch? It gets rather noisy/trendy in the evenings.
