Staff were very helpful, allowing a change of room for a better view. Quirky and characterful is the best way to describe it. It was not their fault the weather was blowy and cold - it was Mid-November.
It is optimistic to describe Margate as changed by the arrival of the Turner Contemporary. Frankly it is run-down and dowdy; 1 in 3 commercial properties are boarded up, and the town desparately needs a boost. How, I don't know.
It was a return to the past for me, having lived in Cliftonville with an aunt in 1956!
